This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. Alternatively, our expert reservations team will be happy to offer advice and to make flight bookings for you. We charge £35 per person for our flight booking service (£60 for India and Nepal). Your flights are then covered by our package-booking conditions, which give you greater protection in the event of delay or cancellation, as well as providing ATOL cover.

Having previously travelled to Copenhagen and Stockholm for work and on short holidays, I knew a bit about the cities but this holiday opened my eyes to a lot more.
In Stockholm enjoyed the Photographic Museum, some excellent exhibitions, and an evening Steam boat trip (Blidösundsbolaget) with a blues band and a meal was great.
Ate at some interesting places the restaurant on the waterside near hotel Strand is very good. We also really liked the old world charm of Prinsen in Stockholm, the place to go for meatballs. A restaurant called Juuri just round the corner from the Lilla Roberts was also very good.
Really enjoyed the days in Helsinki, don't miss the Rock Church but try to go early or late as its very popular. The sea fortress is very interesting and could take up a whole day especially on a warm day with a picnic.
Took the ferry to Tallin and it's worth what is a fairly long day trip to see this interesting city. It was quite busy and tourist oreientated, even in mid October. Streets can be steep and uneven. Getting tickets including seats on the ferry (seemed to be included when I booked online) and the buffet on the return trip is very good and excellent value for Scandinavia at 28 euro for all you can eat and soft drinks.
If doing the Tallin day trip check which boat is best for you to catch, in hindsight it would have been much better for us to use the Viking line as it was just around the corner from our hotel, Tallin was quite a long taxi journey. The highlight for us was seeing the Vasa ship, it was so impressive, there are free boats to the museum.
We loved this holiday - we visited five royal palaces in total. The best in Copenhagen was Christiansborg Palace; if you are interested in theatre make a point of going to Court Theatre (open from 12 noon) as this was lovely. In Stockholm visiting the Vasa is a must, and we also really liked the City Hall building (guided tour). On reflection would give Tivoli Gardens a miss - just an amusement park with lots of catering outlets and rides. Top tip for a change in eating - cross the new bridge by the hotel and try the street food huts.

The Copenhagen Card allowed great freedom of travel. We visited Karen Blixen's House in Rungsted, a 30 minute train journey away. A beautiful place. We then continued by train to Helsingor (Elsinore) to visit Kronborg Castle.
The Stockholm Card included Skansen which we visited and enjoyed very much. We visted Under Kastanjen restaurant in Gamla Stan and enjoyed a 'Taste of Sweden' menu very much!
The Helsinki Card included a boat trip around the islands which was lovely, blessed by good weather. Suomenlinna Island is very interesting and worth a visit. Helsinki covered market near the harbour is a must for a delicious quick bite among the locals.
An excellently paced trip, that show-cased three of the fascinating capital cities of Scandinavia. As usual, Inntravel had found well-appointed hotels that were excellently situated, with a high level of customer service. Each city had a very different vibe - Copenhagen was very laid-back, Stockholm was much busier and bigger (definitely only pick 1 or 2 museums !) and Helsinki was much more elegant than we thought it would be.
The travel between the cities just added to the experience: the train over "The Bridge" to Stockolm sped through miles and miles of pine forests and red-walled houses, and the boat to Helsinki was quite a magical trip through the islands of the Swedish archipelago and then the Finnish islands, with only a few hours of darkness.
The people were very friendly throughout and all spoke beautiful English. we needed very little cash, as cards are widely accepted everywhere: the only exceptions we found to this were in the food markets (all 3 cities had a market, that is worth hunting out) and in Finland, where all tips had to be in cash. "We just don't like to assume we will get a tip" one pleasant waiter explained to us.
A wonderful trip, and a great way to explore this part of Europe; we already have our list of places we want to go back to!
Everything was lovely in the snow. Highlights were the Vasa, Stockholm opera (Rigoletto) and discovering Tallinn (a real gem).
Great holiday with plenty to do and very useful travel cards. Accommodation is a higher specification that we expected.
Excellent restaurants throughout but very expensive - be prepared. Good overview of each city but if you had more time you could return.
We found this a lively, demanding, very worthwhile holiday. We liked the distinctiveness of each capital, as well as the warm welcome extended to us everywhere.
Really enjoyed the holiday but the cities are expensive. Taxi to Copenhagen Station was DK120 not DK200 as indicated in notes. No price given for taxi to Ferry Terminal in Stockholm but allow SK200. Advice in Helsinki was to take a taxi to the Ferry Terminal (for own Tallinn visit). We used the remainder of our Helsinki card to travel by tram. Alternatively take tram 2; it costs less than €3 per person and takes you from the tram stop outside the hotel to the Ferry Terminal - brilliant. The Stockholm Card did not include public transport, just the hop on/off bus which doesn't run in the evenings. Also quite a number of items on the cards no longer operate in September or have reduced frequency/hours. Inntravel doesn't have a recommended hotel in Tallinn; we booked privately, 4* with good reviews but not a patch on your chosen hotels in the 3 cities.
A delightful holiday fully meeting our expectations - which are high because of the high standards we have experienced from Inntravel in the past. Hotel Katajanokka was outstanding in all respects and the experience of staying there will remain with us for years!
Great holiday with good directions and information. City passes very useful. The twenty four hours they are valid for can be timed to last most of the time available.
All three cities and the different methods of travel make it very interesting holiday.
