Enjoy a self-guided hotel-to-hotel cycling holiday, with the satisfaction of cycling from village to village. With no group, you can cycle at your own pace, carrying just the essentials for the day – we arrange luggage transfers, and provide you with a high-quality bike and our comprehensive route notes and maps.
Over the course of a hotel-to-hotel cycling holiday you can explore a wide area – and often a variety of landscapes – something which brings a great sense of achievement. But that’s not to say that our holidays are about covering as great a distance as possible. We design our routes so that they lead via numerous places of interest, with ample time to stop for visits and make the most of your surroundings.
Similarly, you spend two nights at most hotels so that you have the chance to enjoy a circular bike ride in the vicinity (or simply a rest day!).
We offer hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays in a wide range of destinations, with something for everyone. For amazing scenery, we recommend Slovenia or Austria. For gastronomy, France’s vineyard regions are a good choice. If you prefer culture, why not choose Italy?
Travelling from outside the UK?
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Based in California, Phil has taken many trips with us over the years, and will be happy to give you general information about travelling to Europe and the overall Inntravel holiday experience from an American perspective.
How our hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays are graded
Inntravel’s hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays are designed for ‘amateur’ and/or occasional cyclists, with the emphasis squarely on leisurely exploration. Some are easier than others, however, so you should familiarise yourself with our grading system to ensure that you choose the right holiday. (Our grading system assumes you are using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, bear in mind that the cycling will be considerably easier.)
Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs.
Hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays, Inntravel style
There are three cornerstones to our hotel-to-hotel cycling holidays (and Inntravel holidays in general): timeless scenery; warmly welcoming, hand-picked accommodation of character; and excellent regional cuisine.
Trustworthy route notes
The route guides we provide are lovingly compiled by a dedicated team and continuously updated so that you can rely on them completely. Their purpose is not just to guide you from village to village at your own pace, but also to enhance your holiday experience by informing you about the cultural heritage and local ways of life.
Freedom to choose
Holidaying independently, not in a group, means you can stay in intimate hotels, and decide which places to visit each day. What’s more, there’s no set start date, no set duration (feel free to add extra nights), no set travel arrangements – we’ll happily book a bespoke travel package for you, either by air, by rail or by ferry.
Make the most of our expertise
