Think of Provence and the image of bees and butterflies buzzing above lavender fields immediately comes to mind. The fields blossom from June to July, after which the flowers are harvested to extract the famed essential oils, but travel around Provence and neighbouring Gard and you’ll encounter landscapes also immortalised in paintings.

We can organise for you to reach the start of your holiday in France by rail, finding the best routes and connections, plus adding on stays if you wish to break up the journey. Getting to France by train can be simpler than flying, with many of our holidays reachable within six to nine hours from London. Once you arrive in Paris, you can then be in Avignon, Provence in around 2h40, while Paris to St Pierre des Corps in the Loire is just one hour. |
