Our rail holidays in Germany take you right into the heart of some of the country’s most dynamic and fascinating cities, where you can marvel at iconic sights and seek out hidden corners using our detailed route notes. To extend your journey, why not continue across the border to Prague?
Few cities have experienced such fluctuating fortunes as those of the former East Germany, but it is this rich and multi-layered history that makes Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden such interesting places to discover. Each has now fully emerged from the cloak of the Iron Curtain, and is now more culturally enriching than ever. As our German touring holidays are self-guided, you can admire the cities’ well-known landmarks and hidden haunts at your own pace, assisted by our comprehensive route notes.
Holidaying in Germany
If you would like to plan a walking, cycling or touring holiday in Germany for 2021, we are accepting bookings for next year as normal, with the added bonus that prices remain unchanged from 2020. In the hope that the current travel restrictions will be eased before the end of the 2021 winter season, we are also accepting bookings for snow holidays, provided that you are booking at least 6 weeks ahead.
Chart the highs and lows of the past on our touring holidays in Germany. Beyond the Iron Curtain introduces you to the now-rejuvenated cities of Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden, while Beyond the Iron Curtain to Prague offers you the opportunity to visit the Czech capital, which boasts an enthralling mix of architecture, as well as numerous artistic and cultural treasures.
