Featuring family-run 4-star hotels, our snow holidays in Austria for 2023/24 offer both skiing and non-skiing activities. Appreciate the snow-clad scenery while winter walking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing or downhill skiing at quiet villages, or take things even easier, opting instead for horse-drawn sleigh rides and cultural visits.
Our winter holidays in Austria aren’t your average snow holiday. While we offer a wide range of cross-country skiing holidays in Austria, and cater for alpine skiers as well, our Slow holiday philosophy means that our focus is on enjoying the scenery, and that needn’t involve skiing. We choose quiet, unspoiled villages, most of which offer winter walking, snowshoeing and other non-skiing activities.
Where to escape the crowds on a snow holiday in Austria
If you’re looking for a cross-country skiing holiday in Austria, any of our chosen villages in the Tyrol would fit the bill, regardless of your level. Most of these villages also offer downhill skiing on wonderfully uncrowded slopes. If you want the focus of your snow holiday in Austria to be on winter walking, we’d recommend Pertisau, Mösern or Weidach. The latter is also great for snowshoeing.
