Cross-country skiing in Finland for all levels

Another reason for choosing Finland is that there are options to cross-country ski. Ylläs' network incorporates well over 300 kilometres of trails and caters exceptionally well for all levels (see our definitions below), including complete beginners.
  • No previous experience; requires lessons (can be booked locally). Should stick to green trails for cross-country skiing or nursery slopes for downhill skiing.
  • Has skied before and technique is now sufficiently honed to tackle red routes with confidence.
  • Highly experienced. Able to cope with the most difficult of trails/pistes (those graded black).
