left-quote.pngHaving never been to any of the Canary Islands before, I really didn't know what to expect. I was totally unprepared for just how beautiful and diverse the landscape of La Gomera is.

The characteristic deep ravines (or barrancos as they are known), certainly provide some challenging walking - both up and down - and the different view that awaits as you emerge onto a ridge, or drop into another valley just took my breath away. Some of the plant life wouldn't look out of place in Jurassic Park! From palm trees and succulents to the cool and lush ancient laurel forests, which are like stepping back in time, and the wildflowers across the whole island were truly amazing.

Although a small island, La Gomera offers so much; some fabulous walking – mostly enjoyed in complete silence, except for birdsong and wonderful hospitality from our hoteliers.
