Enjoy a self-guided, non-group walking holiday, making the most of your hire car to explore a variety of scenery and perhaps enjoy some sightseeing too. Take your pick of our suggested walks as the mood takes you, walking at your own pace as you follow our trusted route notes.
We often refer to our centred walking holidays as ‘discovery walks’, as they give you the chance to really get to know the area you are visiting. Having a hire car means you can access the area’s best walks and a variety of scenery. These holidays usually feature one (though sometimes as many as three) splendidly located hotel which you use as a base for exploring, with carefully compiled route notes provided for several walks. The great advantage of this is the flexibility – you can take your pick of the walks depending on how you feel.
Of course, if you don’t feel like walking at all, you needn’t – the location of our hand-picked hotels usually means that there is plenty to see and do in the area besides walking (we make suggestions in your information pack), or you could simply relax in the hotel lounge with a good book.
