If you like hill-walking, our self-guided moderate-to-challenging walking holidays are for you. Armed with our lovingly researched route notes, you walk at your own pace either from a single base, or from one delightful hotel to another while your luggage istransferred.
Our moderate-to-challenging routes bring many rewards, from the satisfaction of reaching a peak or high pass, to the views that greet you there. But, despite involving fairly full days, they are not just about the walking. In keeping with our Slow holiday philosophy, they are also about appreciating the details – the flowers, the wildlife, local architecture. You’ve no luggage to weigh you down, and no group, so take your time, knowing that a charming hotel and a delicious dinner await.
Our moderate-to-challenging walking holidays are aimed at fit, regular walkers. To be sure that they are right for you, check our grading system below. Given the flexibility of our holidays, you are free to add in extra nights at any hotel so as to give yourself a rest day or two.
