Inntravel’s walking holidays in France are about seeing a region ‘up close’, not necessarily bagging peaks. That’s what we mean by a Slow holiday, so take time as you walk to admire the views or visit a château. There’s no luggage to encumber you, and, with no group, it’s you who sets the pace and chooses when to pause. You can trust us to select charming accommodation and to provide accurate route notes to direct you there, so relax and enjoy…
Our range of French walking holidays reflects the diversity of the Hexagone’s landscapes and, as specialists of walking holidays in France, we know the most scenic paths. For vineyards, castles and fairy-tale villages, head to Alsace. To explore beautiful river valleys, choose the Dordogne or Tarn. Further south, the allure of Corsica and Provence is hard to beat, as is the beauty of the Alps, but we also offer French walking holidays in the lesser-known Cévennes National Park and amid the medieval villages of the Aveyron.
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Based in California, Phil has taken many trips with us over the years, and will be happy to give you general information about travelling to Europe and the overall Inntravel holiday experience from an American perspective.

Walking since 1984
Since 1984 we’ve walked the most dramatic, tranquil and beautiful paths in Europe and beyond. We’ve learned a lot along the way, and would like to pass on our experience to you. Whether you prefer gentle paths or challenging hikes, call us. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you plan your ideal walking holiday.
Your holiday, your way
Not being part of a group means you can stay in intimate hotels and guesthouses, and gives you so much freedom. Freedom to choose your start date, the length of your holiday (feel free to add extra nights) and your travel route – we’ll happily book a bespoke travel package for you, either by air, by rail or by ferry.
Comprehensive route notes
We take great pride in our route guides, updating them constantly so that you have the most current information and can enjoy the richest possible holiday experience. Walking at a pace that suits you, you can rely on them to steer you from A to B, and fill you in about places of interest and local culture along the way.
