Walking holidays in Slovenia

– Lake Bled to the Julian Alps

Walking holidays in Slovenia are all about immersing yourself in scenery of incredible natural beauty. Pause as often as you like to drink in the views – of majestic peaks towering over lush valleys dotted with brightly painted beehives, and villages where time seems to have stood still. You’re not part of a group, and have no luggage to carry (we take care of that, along with providing detailed route notes), so take your time and enjoy a walking holiday that's worth it.

Which walking holiday in Slovenia is right for you?

Our walking holidays in Slovenia explore mountain regions, but that doesn't mean that you have to be a keen walker to enjoy them. Our grading system below should help you decide what is right for you. We’ll be happy to add in an extra night or two if you’d like an occasional rest day.
  • Most of our walking holidays in Slovenia fall into our grade 2 category, where the typical route distance is 10-15km a day, across varied terrain with regular ascents and descents. In the Soča Valley, you'll walk beside one of Europe's most enchanting rivers, moving from Slovenia's Mediterranean south to its Alpine north. The Julian Alps, meanwhile, contain some of the country's most iconic landscapes: from Lake Bled to the Triglav National Park to the dramatic Slap Slavika waterfall.
  • If you choose our single-centre walking holiday in Slovenia's Logar Valley, you'll have the choice of grade 1 and 1-2 routes: gentle options that average 7.5km in length and which only involve limited ascent and descent. Wherever you explore, you'll be met with glorious scenery: of towering mountains, high plateaus, and rushing waterfalls.
