Enjoy a self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking holiday, with the satisfaction of walking from village to village. With no group, you can walk at your own pace, carrying only what you need for the day – we arrange luggage transfers, and provide you with a map and our trusted route notes.
What makes inn-to-inn walking so rewarding is the sense of journey. Depending on the holiday you choose, you may cover over 100 kilometres during your time away. This is very fulfilling in itself, but is even more so given that you can often clearly see the landscapes changing gradually as you progress. Inn-to-inn walking also gives you the opportunity to stay at a number of different hotels along the way, providing an added sense of variety.
We offer inn-to-inn walking in nearly all of our featured countries, from Spain to Slovenia, and from deepest rural France to the heart of the Austrian Tyrol. Where you choose will depend on whether you’d like to discover high mountains or river valleys, coastal scenery or vineyards, pretty villages or somewhere off the beaten track.
Travelling from outside the UK?
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Based in California, Phil has taken many trips with us over the years, and will be happy to give you general information about travelling to Europe and the overall Inntravel holiday experience from an American perspective.

Hotel-to-hotel walking holidays, Inntravel style
There are three cornerstones to our hotel-to-hotel walking holidays (and Inntravel holidays in general): timeless scenery; hand-picked accommodation of character where you’ll find warm hospitality; and delicious regional cuisine.
Detailed route information
We take extra care to provide you with clear, coherent route notes that we update regularly. Including useful tips about places to visit, Inntravel route guides give you more time to focus on the simple pleasures of walking, discovering the natural landscape at your own pace and soaking up the local ambience.
Holidays tailored for you
Because you explore independently on an Inntravel holiday, you can personalise the arrangements. Pick a holiday, then decide when to start, how long to stay (you can add extra nights) and how to get there. Then we take care of the details – from train, ferry or flight bookings to hotel and taxi reservations.
We’ve built up a wealth of experience since we started in 1984. Whether you’ve got a query or wish to book a holiday, you’ll deal with friendly experts who share a passion for travel and who have stayed in our featured hotels and walked our routes. They’ll be delighted to answer your questions and help you plan your perfect holiday.
