Best for culture – Munich
Famous for Oktoberfest – whose origins date back to the wedding of Ludwig I and Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen in 1810 – Munich’s cultural scene is as intoxicating as the atmosphere within the city’s beer halls. Since then, the city flourished as an artistic and imperial centre where today you can wander its main square, the Marienplatz, dating back to 1158, as well as iconic sites such as the Baroque palace and city parks.

This is our fourth Inntravel holiday experience and it lived up to our expectations: excellent walking
notes and great hotels.
For my summer holiday this year I wanted to escape somewhere lush and wild to re-charge the batteries. I couldn't have made a better choice of location, or gone with a better company. Everyone I spoke to at Inntravel was courteous, efficient and helpful throughout. They sent an information pack, including a topographical map of the region, which helped to guide my planning from the get-go. They also included access to a 24-Hour Bergen City Card, which I used to navigate my way around Bergen's many sites of historical interest, public transport and restaurants. For these reasons, I felt equipped with plenty of information and advice to get the most out of my short stay.
