Lofoten Cottages: an Arctic Island Discovery

Lofoten Islands – awe-inspiring landscapes
The fishing village of Mortsund is on Vestvågøy Island, midway along the chain. The nearest supermarket is in Leknes, 20 minutes’ drive away, though there is a restaurant at the rorbu centre.

Lofoten Cottages, sleep 2-4

Meal arrangements: self-catering

Lofoten Cottages
You stay in one of 70 rust-coloured fishermen’s cottages (rorbu) nestling by the shore, each converted into a comfortable and well heated lodge with a lounge, kitchen corner, bedroom(s) and shower room. The Rorbu Centre is run by Lofoten Islanders, Ottar and Camille Statle, who will be happy to share their knowledge of the area and to offer insights into life on the Lofotens to enhance your stay on these wild and unique islands.
