Cycle at your own pace from one delightful country inn to the next on a self-guided cycling holiday in the UK. We transfer your cases, and supply you with our trusted route notes and a high-quality bike, leaving you free to enjoy the scenery, the numerous stately homes and the pretty villages.
Stately homes and royal retreats; nature reserves teeming with birds; pretty villages and inviting beaches ... our cycling holidays in the UK are about more than cycling. These being Slow holidays, we encourage you to stop and appreciate the places that you pass – you’re not part of a group, and have no luggage (we transfer it to the next hand-picked country inn or guesthouse), so make the most of the freedom, following our reliable route notes at your own pace.
For our very first cycling holiday in the UK, we have chosen Norfolk. The region's labyrinth of backroads are perfect for leisurely pedalling, and you never seem to have to go too far between refreshment stops! Combine this with a wealth of places of interest, not to mention beautiful seascapes, and you can understand why Norfolk makes such a great choice for a cycling holiday in the UK.
Thanks to the modest distances covered each day, our cycling holiday in the UK is suitable for occasional cyclists, but, to be sure that it is right for you, you should familiarise yourself with our cycling grading system below (which assumes you are riding a conventional, pedal-powered bike). If you are unsure of your ability, or would appreciate the option to take things easier every once in a while, you can upgrade to an electric bike.
Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs.
Cycling holidays in the UK, the Inntravel way
Picturesque scenery; charming accommodation offering high standards of hospitality; and flavoursome cooking showcasing local produce. These are the three key ingredients of Inntravel holidays, and our cycling holidays in the UK are no different.
Route notes you can trust
We pride ourselves on providing accurate, comprehensive route guides, which we update constantly so that you can have complete confidence in them. While steering you from A to B, they’ll fill you in about places of interest and local culture, so that you enjoy the richest possible holiday experience – all at your own pace.
Freedom to choose
Holidaying independently, not in a group, means you can stay in intimate hotels, and decide which places to visit each day. What’s more, there’s no set start date, no set duration (feel free to add extra nights), no set travel arrangements – we’ll happily book a bespoke travel package for you, either by air, by rail or by ferry.

We’ve amassed a wealth of expertise since we first started back in 1984.
