This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. Alternatively, our expert reservations team will be happy to offer advice and to make flight bookings for you for any of the options listed above except those operated by Ryanair. We charge £35 per person for our flight booking service. Your flights are then covered by our package-booking conditions, which give you greater protection in the event of delay or cancellation, as well as providing ATOL cover.

Just walking around Copenhagen was perhaps the highlight - a wonderful city and everyone we spoke to was keen to talk and share stories of Danish life.
Overall this was a good trip, and we both enjoyed it. As we went in "closed season" (late Jan/early Feb) there were a few things that we couldn't see, and it might be better to brave the crowds and go before Christmas, but even with the damp weather there was a lot to see and do, and we did! Copenhagen was absolutely charming and the various palaces well worth a visit. The transfer to Stockholm was a bit fraught as our booked train was cancelled (reason unclear) which necessitated a few diversions, but once there the hotel was excellent. Gamla Stan was lovely and well worth a detailed visit - worth noting that the Skansen attraction is no longer covered by the city card, but the nearby Vasa museum (a Swedish Marie Rose?) is really excellent. The ferry to Helsinki is very busy at times - the Bon Vivant restaurant is superb and well worth trying! Helsinki was also good - the hotel, converted from a prison, is arguably the best of the three, although it's a close run thing. The trams are great - running on time and providing access to the major sights, and eating out at Savotta is highly recommended. We were lucky that the gloomy weather eased off here, and the last two days were superb - blue skies and sunshine. There is a lot to see here too (and we were on our second trip); anyone interested in architecture should probably visit the new library. Overall there were some fascinating places to visit on this trip - any slight glitches were well beyond the control of Inntravel, who were as good as always. Well worth doing!
We just loved this journey. We have always wanted to visit these cities and would not have necessarily known how to link them all into one journey. It was so well organised and all the travel was seamless. We went early December and even though there was no snow yet the pre-Christmas lights and Christmas markets gave it a wonderfully magical atmosphere. It was cold and wrapping up for the walking tours was all part of the fun of it. Getting dark at 3pm added to the fun as everything is lit up! The recommended restaurants were excellent especially the Hairy Pig Deli in Stockholm and the Savotta in Helsinki. We loved sampling the local food.

HIGHLIGHTS: Quality of the food in all cities excellent. Local food easy to find. Tivoli gardens in Copenhagen at Christmas are a must see! The Atrium restaurant at the King's Garden Hotel in Stockholm is wonderful, French cuisine with opera singers on Tues evening. Stockmann department store in Helsinki is well worth a visit.
It is difficult to write about personal highlights because there were so many of them - so much to see and to do that we walked our socks off. We did however, also take advantage of the boat trips on offer since they added to our understanding of the development of each of the capital cities and it was good to be on the water.
We were particularly drawn to Copenhagen because of its very human scale. Its relatively low rise buildings, throughout the city centre, display carefully ordered rows of windows which suggest a calm and uniform rationality. This same characteristic can be seen in much of the design evident inside the buildings too. Perhaps this reflects the nature of the people. We found their warmth and welcome delightful. This is a place that we wish to explore further.
Stockholm, a more intricate mix of land and water is a much larger city and bustles with activity. Spread over a wider area than Copenhagen there are a huge number of attractions (whatever you do, don't miss the Vasa) which need far more than two days to discover. There is also a thriving concert scene worth checking out. We managed to get tickets for an impressive 'Messiah' in the Cathedral.
Helsinki is far more clearly influenced by its eastern neighbour than the other capitals with many grandiose 'statement' buildings, both secular and sacred. We were impressed by the Suomenlinna sea fortress, testament to a very turbulent past (which provided many hours of exploration), and by the Lutheran Cathedral, particularly smooth, serene and uncluttered high above the main square. The ultra modern church of the Rock is a strong contrast to this yet speaks of continuity as well as change.
A stimulating and fascinating holiday therefore. Well done Inntravel!
