“I love David Nicholls. His writing is deceptively simple but always funny. So, when he turned his pen to England’s Coast to Coast Path, I was 100% in.
The book is an alternating narrative between the two main characters – Marnie and Michael. They’re both single, they’re both a bit stuck, and they’re both reluctantly cajoled into joining a group walk.
Walking is a wonderful vehicle for this mid-life rom com; as they are physically moving forward towards the end of the walk, they’re also moving forward emotionally. The dialogue is whip-smart, which just reminds you that, often, long-distance walking provokes the best and the deepest conversations.
Ultimately, this book will leave you with a very warm glow and very itchy feet.”
