Overall the trip was very good, but the best accomodation and food was loaded towards the first few days, balanced by the best walking and sites being loaded towards the last few days.
A brilliant wlaking holiday with the bonus of superb Michelin starred food. A genuine treat
Last year we did the other Dordogne walk in late August and were plagued with wasps at breakfast and dinner times when sitting outside; going in June avoids them, bar one or two. We had also hoped for it to be cooler in June than last August, but this proved not to be the case this year! Re Hotel Le Troubadour, I do think you should be more upfront about the distance the hotel is from both L'Hospitalet and Rocamadour; I wasn't aware that it was 15 minutes outside of L'Hospitalet until i got the walkers notes, after I had booked the holiday. I think this point is particularly important given you use a photo of Rocamadour in the brochure in order to "sell" the walk. The reality is that after a day's walking most people don't want to have to do a one hour round trip to have dinner in Rocamadour in the evening, so they are limited to dining in L'Hospitalet, or the restaurants between the village and the lifts.

This was a wonderful exeprience for our first time talking a suported walking trip. Inn Travel planned it perfectly. Walking in the morning, resting by the pools in the afternoons, followed by incredible French cuisine was perfect. The clear directions and luggage transers made it all so easy.
The Dordogne Valley is beautiful, unspolit hiking. Loved it. We were glad to have the layover days...lots to explore and many great day hikes.
We loved the Michelin dinners, and the dinners in Cales too. Enjoyed all four hotel stays. Very attractive settings and locations. Rocamadour is breathtaking. Be careful of last walk if it's been raining, it's quite muddy. Overall, we are great fans of Inn Travel after this, our third walk on five weeks.
These three walks bring to 10 the number of Inntravel walks we have done over the years. Once again we found the experience to be very satisfying and the arrangements first class.
We would in particular like to commend the assistance provided to us by Emily and Adam while we were in Milan who alerted us to a rail strike and went out of their way to make alternative arrangements to get us to our first hotel of the walk (on 5 May 2025)
A brilliant, gastronomic holiday. All the hotels were welcoming, warm and delightful with excellent English. All went out of their way to make sure that we had a great time. We went by Eurostar and French railway, which is highly recommended. Such a relaxing way to travel. Take stretch waist trousers, with all the tremendous food you'll need them!
As a solo traveller I very much enjoyed this walking in the peaceful France profonde. The routes were varied. I walked through rural landscapes, alongside the Dordogne and enjoyed some bracing climbs in limestone country. Rocamadour is on a section of the Camino and is an extraordinary place.
Highly recommended.
Please see comments in the first box. We loved it. It was our first self-guided holiday and I am already looking at the brochure for future ideas! Thankyou to everyone at Inn Travel
We entrusted all arrangements and route-directions to Inntravel on friends' recommendation and, sure enough, they were superb. Thank you all for our week walking in the beautiful Dordogne seeing it from every angle and exploring its rich variety and history as well as sublime cuisine. Choosing just one highlight is unfair to all the others but we both felt the last day's walk from Hospitalet around the Gorge of Alzou to the medieval mill built into the rocks at the head of the valley was spectacular. It combined sun-drenched cliff-top panoramas with river-bed treks where the dappled green light danced through a canopy of tall trees and the pure air was unforgettable.
We were really pleased to have extended the 2nd and 4th hotel and wish the 1st hotel had an option to extend as well, we might have gone canoeing if time had allowed. All in all a fabulous holiday Thank you
Excellent hotels and all the meals were good, especially dinner at Hotel Pont du l'Ossysse. All the breakfasts were substantial and good. The walks were fine, the highlight being the last one on the final day. The wild flowers and butterflies were amazing.
The walk to the mill on the last day was outstanding. Another very enjoyable holiday with Inntravel. It met all our expectations.
The walks were all in beautiful countryside. The river Dordogne is quite a sight to see. Temperatures were high for the first few days and then we had a very wet walk to Rocamadour. Still very nice though and spectacular to walk into. Food was generally very good.
This holiday exceeded expectations. Wonderful hotels, amazing meals, very accurate walking notes for lovely walks. Thank you!
If you are travelling in spring take an app on your phone to help identify the dozens of kinds of wild flowers. The highlight of our walk by far.
The quality of the food everywhere, except the Belvedere, was outstanding, better than any other Inntravel trip we have taken. Rocamadour is one of the most striking towns we have visited.
I was disappointed when unable to complete this as a walking holiday, but every kindness was shown by hoteliers and others, so I still enjoyed myself.
We got to know the other people who had booked with Inntravel at the same time, and swapped notes each evening, as well as eating dinner together. This level of social interaction added greatly to the holiday. We would have liked you to tell us during booking who else was going to be there at the same time.
