Walk at your own pace from one hotel of character to the next on a non-group,self-guided walking holiday in the Loire. We transfer your luggage, and supply you with our highly reliable route notes, leaving you free to enjoy the graceful châteaux.
The Loire was once the playground of kings, and their legacy – elegant châteaux and a rich history – mean that walking holidays in the Loire are about more than walking. These being Slow holidays, we encourage you to visit the châteaux that you pass, and perhaps the odd vineyard, too – you’re not part of a group, and have no luggage (we transfer your bags to the next hand-picked hotel), so make the most of it, following our trusted route notes at your own pace.
Probably the main motive for choosing a Loire Valley walking holiday is the châteaux, so we’ve designed our Châteaux & Vineyards route so that it takes in several: romantic Azay-le-Rideau, turreted Ussé, formidable Chinon and small but perfectly formed Montsoreau. You’ll also have chance to visit ancient cave dwellings, museums and Fontevraud Abbey.
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Based in California, Phil has taken many trips with us over the years, and will be happy to give you general information about travelling to Europe and the overall Inntravel holiday experience from an American perspective.
