Camino de Santiago: The Inntravel Way

What makes an Inntravel Camino so special?

There have been so many travellers of the Camino de Santiago over the centuries that we simply can never know the exact number. Innumerable pairs of pilgrim feet have trodden the ancient routes, weaving an enduring cobweb of paths across Europe and layering history over the land like lace – ultimately leading to the ornate and sacred Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain.

Undeniably, walking the Camino is a special experience – the stretches of scenic countryside, the buzz of camaraderie and anticipation, the exhilarating sense of achievement, and the connection to fellow pilgrims that seems to transcend even time – but, with Inntravel, the journey can become better still.
Accommodation
From traditional guesthouses swaddled in Galicia’s green hills to historic hotels complete with cloisters and courtyards, we’ve plotted paths of hidden gems along the French, English, and Portuguese Camino routes – with local stays more intimate and comfortable than the usual pilgrim dormitories you might otherwise experience.

Bathe in the delightful outdoor pool at the beautiful converted farmstead on El Camino Francés after a day’s walking, stop for a night at the 16th-century Renaissance jewel that is the Parador de Pontevedra (and former residence of the Counts of Maceda) along the Portuguese Way, or relax in the secluded garden of a rural guesthouse by the cascading River Abelleira as you follow El Camino Inglés.

Whichever route you choose though, why not top it all off by upgrading your stay in Santiago to the 5-star Parador de Santiago de Compostela – a luxurious hotel believed to be one of the oldest in the world, and just steps from the city’s architectural wonders?
Soak up Santiago
The treasured city that marks the end of your journey by no means signifies the end of your holiday. Once you arrive in the medieval, bronze-coloured streets of Old-Town Santiago, there’s no need to rush around hurriedly exploring before travelling home – we’ve added an extra night here on all our Camino itineraries. Not only can you fully recharge (and celebrate) after your journey on the first evening, but you also have the whole following day dedicated to savouring the city’s sights.

We can arrange more nights in Santiago for you too, should you wish.
No need to carry the bags
left-quote.pngLuggage transfers – a detail that sounds small but makes a big difference. We sort the transportation of your luggage while you’re walking, meaning you can set off each day free of the need to carry heavy rucksacks or pull large suitcases – your belongings will meet you at your next stay.

And – an added bonus – you can therefore pack a bit more or buy a few more souvenirs!
The best of both worlds
Walking the Camino de Santiago with Inntravel is to marry the pilgrim experience with all the elements of an unforgettable holiday. It’s not always possible to walk the entirety of a lengthy Camino route, so, with that in mind, we focus on the last 100 kilometres (at least) of your chosen path. This qualifies you for the official ‘Compostela’ pilgrim certificate, while prioritising your holiday experience.
