With phones taking the place of cameras, torches, pocket dictionaries and much, much more, it makes sense that they should also replace the large folders of route and cultural information about your holiday.

Below we offer a few useful tips and answer the most common questions. If you have a query that is not covered here, please get in touch.
 

Useful tips

1) Charge your phone to 100% every evening.

2) Make sure to download your walk note PDF's and take them with you before you set off each day.

3) Use battery-saving mode and, if you have more than one device, use one for accessing the notes and the other for making calls and taking photos.

  • Rather than try to explain it here, we encourage you to click here to view a example (opens in a new tab).
  • If you have downloaded the day’s route notes and aren’t constantly referring to them – we encourage you to appreciate your surroundings instead! – you should be fine. For peace of mind, you might like to carry an additional battery pack or portable charger with you.
  • Provided that you download the day’s notes and relevant map sections before you set out, you can still view them without a connection.
  • The digital notes and maps are designed to replace hard copies. Therefore, provided you download the correct day’s notes each morning before you set off, you will have everything you need.
  • The digital documentation has been designed to replace the hard copies of the walk notes and maps.
  • The travel section can be accessed by tapping/clicking the 3 lines in the top right-hand corner of your webpage. From here you can tap/click the relevant header which will then take you to the travel section.
  • QR codes consist of a number of black squares and dots which represent certain pieces of information. When your Smartphone scans this code, it translates that information into something that can be easily read.
  • Your QR code is a means of accessing  your digital documents. You will need to open the camera on your smartphone. By holding the camera over the QR code this will then bring up a website link. Tap/click this link to access your digital documents.
  • If you are using a larger device such as a tablet you may have the ability to have two apps open at the same time. Alternatively, you can simply switch from app to app in order to follow the GPS route and the notes.
  • The individual walk notes are stored in the documents section of your webpage.
  • This can be done by opening them and then saving the files on your device.
  • Your webpage should be available on any device that can access a website browser such as a tablet, phone or computer.
  • Yes, the webpage can be displayed on more than one device. However, when using it during the day we would recommend only accessing it on one device.
  • Tickets can be accessed in the documents section 2 to 3 weeks before your departure date.
  • Yes, all documents relevant to your holidays will show in the documents section.
  • No, only people who have the link / QR code can access it.
  • Yes, we do not store personal details in your digital holiday information.
