Hotel Kitzspitz, St Jakob

The quiet side of the Tyrol
The village
Situated in the far north-east of the Tyrol, the valley of Pillerseetal shelters four other villages in addition to St Jakob in Haus, and is an all-year-round holiday region. Attractive St Jakob is quite small, with just a small supermarket, a bank with an ATM, a post office and a couple of cafés. A wider choice of shops, cafés and restaurants can be found in neighbouring Fieberbrunn, just five minutes away on the ski bus.

PLEASE NOTE: most beds in Austrian hotels are normally one large base with two mattresses/duvets. We refer to these as 'Austrian Twins' and they are locally regarded to serve requests for both double and twin bedded rooms. Separate twin beds or traditional double beds with one large mattress are rare and cannot be guaranteed.

This wonderful chalet-style hotel sits in an enviable position, a five-minute walk from the village centre. You are warmly welcomed by the affable Nothegger family, who are justly proud of the service and hospitality they provide.

Leisure facilities
As well as a beautiful indoor-outdoor swimming pool in the main building, there is a wonderful spa area (including two saunas and relaxation rooms) in the piste-side chalet behind the hotel. (Pay locally for massages and other treatments.) A large, comfortable bar area and lounge – where complimentary tea and cakes are served every afternoon – complete the picture.

Children's facilities

Children
To keep children amused, there is a small playroom, table tennis, table football, playing cards and board games. Highchairs and cots are available for infants.

Restaurant

Restaurant
Delicious four-course dinners await you each evening in the bright and airy restaurant with its beamed ceiling, red-and-white tablecloths, and views across the downhill slopes. There is usually a themed buffet once a week, in addition to the weekly gala dinner.
Comprising homemade breads, cheeses, muesli, local meats, yogurts and jams, the extensive breakfast buffet is just the thing to set you up for the day, before returning to the restaurant's winter garden for a light lunch of soup, salad and cake.
