Ibiza’s Hidden Charms

The other side of the ‘white island’
This Holiday in a nutshell
  • self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking, luggage transported
  • walk across scenic headlands and tranquil hills
  • sweeping sea views and secret coves only accessible on foot
  • outdoor pool at every hotel

The popular image of Ibiza and the side of the island that this holiday reveals could not be more different. You won’t find the party set here – just laid-back villages, ancient stone watchtowers from the era when pirate attacks were rife, and trails which beckon you onwards with the promise of hidden beaches and endless views.

Set aside your preconceptions of Ibiza; away from the hedonistic resorts of the south and west are panoramic headlands and enticing coves linked by beautiful trails.
James Keane, Inntravel

Since these views are dominated by the blue of the sea and sky, the green of the pines and the red of the soil, no one knows for sure how Ibiza became known as the White Island. It could be the whitewashed houses which glisten in the sunlight, but equally it could be the early-morning mists or the salt which has historically been Ibiza’s most important export. One thing is certain, however: the island will dazzle you with its beauty.
