The Sorrento Peninsula

Around the cape to elegant Sorrento
This Holiday in a nutshell
  • self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking, luggage transported
  • breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples
  • land of lemon & olive groves
  • stay in bustling Sorrento
  • walk on the island of Capri

Drawn by the bright Mediterranean sunshine and the dramatic fusion of mountains and sea, visitors have been coming to the Amalfi Coast since the days of the Grand Tour. West of Amalfi, mountains, coves and villages continue to alternate to Punta Campanella, the peninsula’s westernmost point, which stretches out into the sea towards the island of Capri. Beyond this rugged cape, on the northern side of the peninsula, Sorrento still exudes the same charm and elegance that the Victorians so loved, as it looks across the Bay of Naples.

Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn't quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.
John Steinbeck
Complementing our Amalfi Coast & Villages walk, this is a wonderful discovery of the western part of the peninsula, rewarding you with new views at every twist of the path – mountains plunging into the sea, the rugged Lattari peaks, the island of Capri, and across the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius.
