Embark on a self-guided cycling holiday in Sicily, staying in accommodation of character. We arrange luggage transfers and provide a high-quality bike and our concise but informative route notes so that you can explore at your own pace.
A cycling holiday in Sicily will captivate and delight you. The wealth of Baroque towns, ancient necropolises and nature reserves means that there is always something vying with the scenery for your attention while you are cycling in Sicily. In the true spirit of a Slow holiday, pause as often as you like to take it all in – you’re not part of a group, and have no luggage to carry (we sort out that and all the other arrangements, as well as providing route notes), so take your time…
When it comes to cycling holidays, Sicily’s south-eastern tip lends itself perfectly to two-wheeled discovery. As you pedal along, you will discover a series of ornate, UNESCO-protected Baroque towns, home to honey-coloured cathedrals and palaces adorned with exquisite golden mosaics.

Travelling from outside the UK?
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Is our cycling holiday in Sicily right for you?
Like all our bike holidays, our cycling holiday in Sicily is aimed at ‘amateur’ cyclists, but does involve some steady climbs. Our grading system below should help you decide if our cycling holiday in Sicily is right for you. If you think you might need a boost on uphill sections, electric (e-)bikes are available as an upgrade. (Our grading system assumes you are using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, you'll find the cycling considerably easier.)
Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs.
Cycling holidays in Sicily, Inntravel style
Our cycling holiday in Sicily – like all Inntravel holidays – features three core ingredients: seductive landscapes; friendly accommodation of character hand-picked by us; and traditional cuisine, which in Sicily reflects the island’s diverse cultural heritage.
Route notes you can trust
We pride ourselves on providing accurate, comprehensive route guides, which we update constantly so that you can have complete confidence in them. While steering you from A to B, they’ll fill you in about places of interest and local culture, so that you enjoy the richest possible holiday experience – all at your own pace.
Your holiday, your way
Independent holidays offer so much more freedom than a group holiday. Pick a start date to suit you, build in extra nights at any hotel along the route, choose how you travel – by air, rail or ferry – and from where. You’ll also get to experience smaller, more intimate hotels and, best of all, you can be entirely spontaneous as you explore.
Make the most of our expertise
The expertise that we’ve built up since starting in 1984 is greatly valued by our customers. The friendly experts with whom you speak by phone or converse via email share a passion for travel and have first-hand knowledge of our cycling holidays. They’ll be pleased to answer your questions and put together your ideal holiday.
