Enjoy a self-guided cycling holiday in the Italian Alps, on which you pedal leisurely from one charming hotel to the next. We arrange luggage transfers and supply you with a high-quality bike and our comprehensive route notes and maps, the rest is up to you.
An Inntravel cycling holiday in the Italian Alps is about more than the cycling. It’s easy-going and, what’s more, it’s a Slow holiday, so pause en route to take in the views of snow-capped peaks, or taste wine at a vineyard. There’s no luggage to weigh you down, and, with no group, it’s you who sets the pace. You can rely on us to select hotels of character and provide meticulously compiled route notes that guide you there, so unwind and enjoy…
The corner that we have chosen for our cycling holiday in the Italian Alps is the area north of Trento, where the jagged, lace-like peaks of the Dolomites line the horizon, and elegant towns nestle in the valleys, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards.

Travelling from outside the UK?
To give you a good idea of how we can tailor our trips to your individual requirements, take a look at the section of the website specifically devoted to travellers from outside the UK.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to get the low-down on Inntravel holidays from someone who has first-hand experience, you can email Phil Wise. Based in California, Phil has taken many trips with us over the years, and will be happy to give you general information about travelling to Europe and the overall Inntravel holiday experience from an American perspective.
Is our cycling holiday in South Tyrol right for you?
Given our focus on ‘amateur’ cyclists, we promise gentle cycling holidays in the Italian Alps – our routes follow designated, well-signed cycle tracks which stick largely to the valley floors while still commanding magnificent views. The definitions of our grades are given below. If you think you might need some help now and again, you could hire an electric (e-)bike. (Our grading system assumes you are using a ‘regular’ bike, so if you choose an e-bike, you'll find the cycling considerably easier.)
Easy cycling for all with shorter days mainly on the flat, but some gentle ascents.
Easy-to-moderate cycling featuring undulating routes with more frequent short ascents, and a mix of shorter and longer days.
Moderate cycling with some longer, steady uphill sections, and longer days.
Fairly strenuous cycling featuring longer days with some sustained climbs.
Cycling holidays in the Italian Alps, Inntravel style
Like all our holidays, our cycling holidays in South Tyrol revolve around three staple ingredients: majestic scenery; hand-picked hotels of character where you’ll find warm hospitality; and delicious regional cuisine.
Route notes you can trust
We pride ourselves on providing accurate, comprehensive route guides, which we update constantly so that you can have complete confidence in them. While steering you from A to B, they’ll fill you in about places of interest and local culture, so that you enjoy the richest possible holiday experience – all at your own pace.
Your holiday, your way
Independent holidays offer so much more freedom than a group holiday. Pick a start date to suit you, build in extra nights at any hotel along the route, choose how you travel – by air, rail or ferry – and from where. You’ll also get to experience smaller, more intimate hotels and, best of all, you can be entirely spontaneous as you explore.
We’ve been offering holidays since 1984 and have built up a wealth of experience. Whenever you contact us, you’ll deal with friendly experts who share a passion for travel and who have stayed in our featured hotels and cycled our routes. They’ll be delighted to answer your queries and help you plan your perfect holiday.
