This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. Alternatively, our expert reservations team will be happy to offer advice and to make flight bookings for you. We charge £35 per person for our flight booking service (£60 for India and Nepal). Your flights are then covered by our package-booking conditions, which give you greater protection in the event of delay or cancellation, as well as providing ATOL cover.

If you've experienced this holiday first hand, why not write a review?
We are keen for as many customers as possible to review their holiday. To make it easier to do so, we include a specific review section on our post-holiday questionnaire, and this is what we publish here, unedited. Read our full review policy >
The holiday was excellent, the organisation superb. I'll definitely be looking for other Inntravel holidays and have been telling friends and relatives about what an excellent experience it was. The personalisation of our holiday, given that we were combining a number of routes, was most appreciated and really well tailored. The hotel choices, particularly in terms of locations, were great. The advice about travelling light, given by a review I read on the website, was not heeded by us but should have been. Overall a really good experience. It is evident in the notes that keeping information current is a priority of Inntravel and this was truly appreciated.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: These customers combined our On the Trail of the Habsburgs (with Vila Bled) and A Grand Tour of Italy itineraries, adding on Naples and the Amalfi Coast with us as well.
This was a fantastic holiday and a big thank you to Inntravel for making my wife's 70th birthday that extra special.
From arrival in Vienna to our departure from Venice everything went like clockwork, with excellent walking notes, we made the best of each city. The Kaiserhof staff were very friendly and helpful.
In Vienna would certainly recommend Central Cafe for experience of coffee and cake, arrived at 10.45 and found no queue. We combined Inntravel's notes with the walk in the city guide that takes in the summer palace, only 20min from the Kaiserhof Hotel. If you wish to visit lots of museums then certainly an extra day is needed. We ate at the Gasthaus zut Oper, but found it rather touristy and were rushed. Would recommend the Sud Lander Bistro by the hotel and Cafe Sperl by the market.
We found Graz not as welcoming as the other places, but would recommend being at the clock when the clocks figures perform.
The restaurant Die Herzl in Prokopigasse, round the corner from the clock in Graz serves very good food in a lively atmosphere. Stainzerbauer was more refined but the price reflected this. Coffee and cake at the organic cafe opposite the hotel was really nice.
Lake Bled is in a magical setting and Villa Bled matches this. Dinner included on the 1st night was an excellent 4 course meal, but being the only ones in the restaurant for the 1st hour a bit soulless. A short walk from the hotel is the restaurant Sova, would highly recommend this place, although the building does not do justice to the quality of food on offer. Staff really friendly and helpfull, but booking is essencial.
Coffee and cake at the hotels cafe is also recommended for the view. If walking around the lake, the Olympic Rowing Centre serves good coffee.
Ljubljana is a lovely city, if a little lively in parts, the people are very friendly and a must have is the Slovenian cake Prekmurska gibanica at the cafe Guzina, which is close by the restaurant Julija, another good place to eat, as recommended by the hotel. Out a bit from the centre are the Tivoli Gardens which are well worth a visit. One note, the taxi drivers at the railway station appear to operate a cartel and all charge from 10 to 15 Euros.
Unfortunately, the weather was not kind to us in Trieste. We had just reached the Roman Amphitheatre on the walk, when the heavens burst, thunder storms and lightning, such that parts of Trieste where flooded and made the Italian national news. We paddled back to the hotel to dry out. With marquees being erected everywhere along the sea front and the main square for a show, we did not see the best of this town. Due to the weather we decided to eat in the hotel on both nights and the food was very good.
On to our last stop Venice, what a pleasant surprise having last visited over 25 years ago, when it was very run down and dirty. This time it was spotlessly clean and once the hordes of tourists from the cruise ships have gone, it was a different place. Local children playing ball games in the squares, families sat about chatting and just a few tourists. Hats off to the person who designed the walking routes, such that on our last day, off the beaten track in Venice, we meet Francesco da Mosto, the Italian Historian whose programmes we have watched many times on the BBC and had a brief chat.
This was not our usual type of holiday with Inntravel, but was a truly wonderful holiday and the time given to each city, in our opinion being just about right. Even now after returning home we are still full of the fantastic experience we had and all the different people we met and cities visited. For an "none walking" holiday though. we covered well in excess of 60 miles, so the lovely cakes were well earned.
Once again many thanks to all at Inntravel.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: These customers combined our 'On the Trail of the Habsburgs with Vila Bled' holiday with the Venice city add-on.
HIGHLIGHTS: So many it's hard to narrow down! For starters: we enjoyed the Lippizaner stables tour in Vienna; going on the big wheel in Prater; and the fabulous Entler restaurant which we went to on both nights. In Graz, Schloss Eggenberg was an unexpected delight and so quiet and peaceful. On Lake Bled we had one of the best meals of the holiday at Sova. In Llublijana we enjoyed champagne on the 4pm boat trip with the company you recommended; and enjoyed meals at Julia's and Valvas'or just round the corner from the hotel. We loved everything about Trieste and really enjoyed the trip out to Miramare; we also thought Restaurant Joia was fabulous. We indulged ourselves with a private water taxi to the airport in Venice - fabulous, though expensive at 120 euros! As a general point we were surprised how busy the restaurants were everywhere - definitely worth booking ahead or getting the hotel to do it for you as soon as you arrive.

It was a really interesting and well thought out journey with lots to see, and a journey that I would never have thought of planning by myself. We were glad that we had booked an extra night in Vienna, and wished that we had done the same in Trieste. Lake Bled was beautiful but quite busy, but the great surprise was Trieste. It is a really beautiful city but without many other tourists. I would definitely go back there. The hotels varied from quite basic in Ljubljana (though with an excellent location), through the historically fascinating Vila Bled to 5 star in Trieste. If I went again, I would consider buying some room upgrades, particularly in Ljubljana and Vienna.
Highlights would be walk to Radovljica, and Trieste which was a complete surprise with its fine buildings and great piazzas.
Particularly recommend Gasthaus Stainzerbauer at Graz, conveniently close to hotel. We ate well there twice. Good food and warm welcome.
Also recommend Restavracija Julija, Stari Trg, Ljubljiana.
Warning:Vienna taxis understood to be notoriously bad at finding destinations; ours could not find the hotel without numerous detours and enquiries.
