This list of flight options should be used as a guide only, and you should check each airline’s website for current routes, frequency and schedules. Not all flights operate daily, and may not run for the entire season. You should also heed the latest flight arrival time and earliest flight departure time, as it may not be possible to arrange connecting travel outside these times. Please do not book your flights until we have confirmed your accommodation to you. This truly was a wonderful holiday and ranks amongst some of the best we've done with Inntravel. The Glacier Express lived up to all expectations, but what was even more delightful was the trip to Luzern from Interlaken. A real expected bonus. We could not recommend this wonderful winter trip enough. It provides the right blend of winter activities as well as culture to satisfy all.
We really enjoyed the Glacier Express train ride itself - wonderful scenery and great commentary service. There was not much snow at low level, but the walk around Oeschinensee and also the walk from Sonnbuhel to Schwarenbach were fantastic. We have done both before in the summer, but they were even better in the snow.
Luzern Carnival - A number of the visitor attractions (museums and cable car to Pilatus) were shut due to the carnival. In itself, the carnival was great fun, and we felt rather out of place in normal clothes! During the parade, it was dificult to get around due to road closures and the immense crowds. As with any huge event, there was a lot of litter and broken glass left on all of the streets in the old town. The whole event was very well natured and we did not see any trouble at all, even after people had been drinking for 24 hours.
Undoubtedly the highlights were the Glacier Express journey and the stay in Kandersteg. We were lucky with the weather in that it was sunny and there had been recent snow. The walks from the top of the Oeschinensee and Sunnbüel cable cars were outstandingly beautiful and the paths well prepared. However the combination of overcrowded busses and frequency of the cable car at Sunnbüel did result in long queues and missing the ‘connecting‘ bus back. Also worth mentioning is a lovely walk directly behind the hotel and up through snow covered trees which we managed to squeeze in before the journey to Lucerne.

The personal highlight for us was the glacier express where we saw the most amazing views and the walk to the lake in Kandersteg which was our only chance of walking in the snow as the temperatures were hot for February. An enjoyable holiday with a lot of variety.
This was truly a wonderful trip and we had perfect weather for the Glacier Express journey. Paying additional for first class train travel was definitely worthwhile. I would highly recommend a day trip to Arosa from Chur, weather permitting, using the included Swissrail Pass. It is almost worth doing just for the train journey to get there, but Arosa is beautiful and again the weather was perfect. The hotels were of a very high standard, and all 3 had excellent restaurants for a la carte dining.
This was the best holiday of our lives! Everything was planned to perfection and we were excited every time we arrived at a new hotel to embrace the luxury and peace of mind. Thank you Inntravel for making our honeymoon special.
Kandersteg is one of the prettiest villages I have ever seen, we were lucky - it snowed the evening and through the night after we arrived and to wake up to all the beautiful white stuff was amazing!! The hotel In Kandersteg was perfect - it was everything we had wished for and more!!
If I'd done all the research to set up this holiday myself, it would have taken me months. Instead Inntravel took all the strain and all I had to do was make a couple of short phone calls and talk to a real human being to bag myself an absolutely splendid holiday exploring Switzerland. We had all the convenience of a guided tour whilst still travelling independently. The hotels were excellent, the train journeys smooth, and the scenery out of this world. The trip on the Glacier Express was one of many scenic highlights. The suggested excursions were well worth making - on the walks to the frozen lake at Oeschinen and the famous Schwarenbach Hotel in the Gemmi Pass we were rewarded with spectacular scenery. The round trip from Lucerne to the top of Mt Rigi via boat, mountain railway and cable car had me running out of superlatives. Highly recommended.
