From a seafront hotel to a pousada  in a castle, your Arrábida accommodation is as delightfully diverse as the landscape itself.

SANA Sesimbra Hotel
Occupying a seafront location, overlooking the glorious Califórnia beach, the SANA Sesimbra offers good-sized rooms – each with a sea view and its own terrace – plus a heated roof-top swimming pool with a retractable roof (so you can still enjoy an early swim, even on cooler days). There's a small gym which is free for guests to use, and the rooftop has a bar, whirlpool tub and solarium from which to enjoy the 360-degree panorama. A varied buffet breakfast is served in the panoramic dining room or on the pavement terrace outside. You are ideally placed for the town’s many restaurants offering fish and seafood specialities – particularly the freshly barbecued sardines, adored by locals and visitors alike.


Hotel Club d'Azeitão (4*), Azeitão

This 18th-century former manor house is set in expansive grounds, just outside the village of Azeitão. The traditional building surrounds a courtyard and contains lounges, a bar and dining room, and 46 classically decorated rooms featuring traditional Portuguese rugs. Rooms have air conditioning, mini bar, hairdryer and satellite TV, while the grounds include gardens, a tennis court and a large swimming pool. Breakfast features a wide selection of hot and cold dishes and can be enjoyed in the delightful courtyard garden. The dining room offers traditional Portuguese dishes, and wine from the vineyard next door. There is also a restaurant in the village just across the road, plus a choice of good places to eat in Azeitão, a 20-minute walk or short taxi drive away.


Pousada Castelo de Palmela (4*), Palmela

Pousada Castelo de Palmela
A former convent within the walls of a 15th-century castle, this impressive Pousada offers views right across the Serra de Arrábida, the Sado estuary and the Lisbon plains beyond the Tagus. The cloistered ground floor provides access to the former refectory – now the hotel dining room – as well as the bar and bedrooms, and is a fine place to relax and soak up the history that surrounds you. The comfortable bedrooms are former cells whose windows are set into the deep, stone walls and each has air conditioning, mini bar, hairdryer and cable TV. Wifi is available in the public rooms. The dining room offers traditional Portuguese dishes, plus one of the best wine lists in the region, while there are also several restaurants within easy walking distance.


Casa de Atalaia (guesthouse), Palmela

Casa de Atalaia
An elegant fusion of traditional and contemporary, this former winery on the edge of Palmela is a maze of small staircases, landings and corridors, leading to four stylishly decorated rooms and suites. There is a large lounge and games room for relaxation and a small rooftop swimming pool with sunset views across the Palmela roofs to Arrábida.
