From your travels

Inntravel, 12 November, 2020
Holidays have been all too rare in 2020, but some of you were able to enjoy an Inntravel escape this autumn – and you share your experiences with us here.

“Thoroughly unspoiled”

“We walked predominantly on beautiful drovers’ tracks and sheltered lanes, as well as through stunning ancient woodland. It was uplifting to see a part of England which is so thoroughly unspoiled.”
Mr Marsh, The Hardy Way

“Having foregone an overseas holiday due to Covid considerations, this staycation was a great substitute and very much on a par with other holidays we have enjoyed with Inntravel on the continent.”
Ms McMillan, The Hardy Way
“Challenging and exciting”

“This was an absolutely incredible holiday in every possible way. The walking was varied, challenging and exciting, with stunning views across steep hillsides and lemon groves and rocky clifftop paths with the best views we have ever experienced in Italy or anywhere else. We loved starting out in quiet Cava di Tirreni, in a hotel with staggering grounds and phenomenal food. Ravello was also a major highlight – stunning hilltop towns with beautiful gardens, pretty square and brilliant bars and restaurants.”
Kate, The Amalfi Coast & Villages
“We saw herons every day!”

“This is a lovely walking holiday in a quiet, unspoiled part of the UK. The hotels are ideally placed to explore the river Tweed and its wildlife – we saw herons fishing for their food every day! The walks themselves are a great introduction to the area and the information provided is excellent.”
Mrs Page, The Tweed & Scottish Borders

“All three hotels were a pleasure to stay in. They went to great lengths to comply with the many and varied COVID restrictions and we felt totally safe.”
John, The Tweed & Scottish Borders
“We didn't get lost once!”

“An excellent walking holiday in Corfu. Detailed instructions meant we didn't get lost once! Walks were varied and interesting with very few other tourists on the trails. Hotels were great, all with swimming pools… No danger of starvation as the meals were huge!”
Mrs Jones, Corfu's West Coast

“We had a wonderful holiday and are very glad we went despite the pandemic. We felt that in general, the precautions in Greece were very good and clear to follow.”
Anon, Grand Tour of the Peloponnese
“A holiday to lift the spirit”

“The North Norfolk coast is intriguing not only for its wonderfully large beaches (as at Holkham), but for its 'in-between' spaces – mud flats, lagoons and reed beds, and grazing marshland – places where nature teems on its own terms, and humans can observe and conserve but do not compete for the spaces. The final day's walk takes one back into richly cultivated countryside, and adds further value to the experience – the Blakeney Esker is of particular interest. Good (varied) hotels, and good food too. A holiday to lift the spirit in a bleak year.”
John Robertson, Seascapes of North Norfolk
“The best holiday I've ever had”

“This was a marvellous holiday, it had so much interest factor every day. We loved the scenery and the very Italian nature of the area, and the views whilst cycling were tremendous. It's possibly the best holiday I've ever had.”
P. Burrow, Pedalling through Puglia

“The holiday as a whole was fantastic. In these fraught conditions (with COVID-19) we still managed to have one of the best holidays of our lives. I will definitely recommend using Inntravel and will do so in the future.”
Regina Dal Molin, Along the Ligurian Coast
“Memorable hosts, food and hospitality”

“This was a wonderful and unexpected holiday in Portugal; our holiday in Croatia was cancelled due to UK Covid-19 quarantine rules. There were four of us travelling and none of us had been to Portugal. We loved the wild cliff-top walks, fabulous coves with white sand and turquoise sea and all the diverse plants and wildlife. The route guides were detailed and excellent, with wonderful contributions about local sights, buildings and events. We stayed at delightful and diverse locations with some very memorable hosts, food and hospitality.”
Dr Atkin, Along the Costa Vicentina
“Overwhelmed with beauty”

“We had a great time. We were challenged at times, which is exactly what we wanted from this holiday. We were also overwhelmed with the beauty of the Black Forest and the warm reception we received from people we met along our way. The accommodations were lovely and a surprise to us was how good the food was at all hotels. It was helpful that we did not have to worry about making dinner arrangements at the end of a long hiking day – but more than convenient; the food, the wine, and the service were excellent. We would absolutely recommend this holiday to others.”
Mrs Benjamin, A Walk in the Black Forest
“Another fabulous holiday”

“Yet another fabulous holiday, put together by the team at Inntravel. Travelling in September 2020, we were not sure quite what to expect, but very much enjoyed our holiday in the lakes, despite the Covid restrictions in place.”
Sian and Malcolm, Lake Orta to Lake Maggiore

“Another amazing week's walking from Inntravel. The whole experience could not have been better. The walking notes are fantastic and the walks were spectacular.”
Mrs Langton, The High Dolomites
“Fresh air and a friendly welcome”

“This was a great holiday – very well organised, extremely well documented, carefully planned in detail and executed without fail. All the hotels were friendly and welcoming and perfect for the holiday. Food was brilliant and the provision of a daily picnic and reliable luggage transfer meant we had nothing to do but walk though interesting and beautiful mountains, enjoy our day, and look forward to a friendly place of rest and a good meal. Fresh air, exercise and a friendly welcome – nothing could be more relaxing and rewarding.”
Dr C Abell, Bologna to Florence
