Visit Alsace and discover unique and distinctive landscapes and a food-and-wine culture that’s the envy of Europe. Framed by the mountains of the Vosges, this is a highly scenic region, with beautiful and historic villages, characterful accommodation and a good network of wooded walking trails and leisurely cycling routes.
Set between the mighty River Rhine and the pine-clad Vosges Mountains, Alsace is a fascinating and beautiful region, rich in culture, gastronomy and heritage. For many, it is the enchanting villages which provide the biggest draw, with their ubiquitous flower displays and higgledy-piggledy array of half-timbered houses, painted in an attractive range of pastel hues.
Venture beyond these and you’ll find tranquil, wooded foothills crowned by lofty castles, and mile upon mile of carefully tended vineyards. From these come the well-known Alsatian wines – subtly delicious, and an excellent match for the region’s highly celebrated cuisine.
All of our Alsace holidays feature stays in the region’s exquisite villages. Our cycling itinerary meanders between these, while our walking break explores the wooded Vosges foothills. For ultimate variety, choose our ‘Alsace Discovery’ – a mix of cycling and walking.
