Idyllic Lake Achensee
This Holiday in a nutshell
  • self-guided, single-centre walking holiday
  • varied choice of walks and activities
  • gain different perspectives of this splendid lake
  • high-quality hotel with outstanding spa
  • free bus travel

It is no wonder that visitors have been coming to Lake Achensee for decades – with its glittering waters and striking mountain backdrop, the scenery is magnificent. Indeed, a couple of days in the typically Tyrolean village of Pertisau is sure to leave you feeling fully rested and invigorated – not only can you enjoy the fresh mountain air on our scenic walks, but you can also indulge yourself in the Hotel Wiesenhof's state-of-the-art spa. The icing on the cake is that all this is under an hour's drive from the airport, making Pertisau ideal for a short break.

We walked on a mountain track to another viewpoint, enjoying the dazzling contrast of colours in the landscape – the white of the snow high up, the fresh green of the meadows, and the deep blue of the lake down below us.
Travel diary by Beccy Cooper, Inntravel

Nestling on the western shores of Lake Achensee, Pertisau guards the entrance to two valleys leading into the Karwendel Mountains which frame this Tyrolean jewel. This is perfect walking country, where inviting paths lead along the water's edge, through the valleys and along panoramic ridges in the mountains high above, thus giving you different perspectives of the lake.
