This relatively little-known corner of Spain promises some of the best walking anywhere in the country, with scenic paths exploring dramatic ravines and fertile valleys. As you walk, you will discover the area’s rich, multi-layered history, and enjoy superb hospitality at our welcoming mountain guesthouses and hotels.
The ‘secret’ mountains of Alicante may be close geographically to the bustling Costa Blanca, but the contrast with the popular coastal resorts could not be sharper. Beautiful and unspoiled, the mountains are home to a wealth of diverse landscapes, from craggy limestone peaks and dramatic gorges to quiet villages and crumbling Moorish castles.
This is also a region with a long history – in addition to the castles built by the Moors, you will spot signs of Iberian, Roman and even Mallorcan occupation. Today’s residents are delighted to welcome visitors, and you can expect a warm and genuine greeting in the authentic mountain hotels and guesthouses.
We offer a week-long holiday, a short break and a New Year getaway to the mountains of Alicante. Our chosen hotels are located in traditional rural villages which enjoy easy access to some of the region’s best walking trails.
