Travelling through Italy by high speed train was a great way to see the country, and to arrive in the centre of Rome.
walking in portofino and ravello was great, with spectacular routes, which were occasionally challenging, but overall quiet and once out of town, serenaded by birdsong with great views and reliable walk notes.
Good quality holiday as usual with Inntravel. The walking directions are excellent, no further aids needed. Interesting hotels with good access to local eateries.
The Villa Santa Barbara at San Luca was wonderful, and we enjoyed a welcome swim in the outdoor pool in the late afternoon. We enjoyed lovely evening meals at Le Terrazze di Properzio in Assisi and La Torretta in Spoleto.
The views from the tower in Assisi were wonderful and we really enjoyed the museum Villa dei Mosaici in Spello.
Assisi and Spello have a variety of shops selling local produce if you wish to purchase souvenirs or gifts, even though those places are in the first half of the holiday.
The notes include tips for sightseeing, which are helpful. Whilst the top sights often have long queues of visitors these seemed to move quite quickly.

Loved the routes for all the walks and appreciated the variety of farmland, forests, vie cave, and tarmac. (Still don't know what "SB" is!) The food was gorge-worthy, and your selections and recommendations were very helpful. Tell others to eat everything, drink everything, and do everything. Highly recommend adding on days to both Florence and Rome (we added two days to each and should have added more) because both cities are fascinating and full of beauty.
INNTRAVEL NOTE: This customer enjoyed our walking holidays 'Lake Iseo, the Jewel of Lombardy (4 nights)' and 'Walking Historic Umbria & Hidden Tuscany' alongside city add-ons in Florence and Rome.
Beautiful scenery and outstanding views with lovely wild flowers in April
Nice hotels in very interesting towns with Roman, medieval and Baroque buildings to explore.
excellent local seasonal food and local wine throughout the week
We seemed to have had several issues on this holiday however the walking aspect of the holiday (apart from the dogs) was certainly an enjoyable challenge and some of the towns so beautiful.
HIGHLIGHTS: Visit to Civita di Bagnoregio. Antica Enoteca wine bar and restaurant in Rome was absolutely fabulous, super atmosphere, welcoming, vibrant. Delicious food. Great young staff. We ate there both nights. Worth going back to Rome just to eat there again!
INNTRAVEL NOTE: These customers combined our walk Historic Orvieto and Hidden Tuscany with our Rome City add-on
