Recommended - pack your walking shoes and prepare to get your steps in exploring!
We combined city breaks at each end of the trip, with visits to Nice and Pisa. All locations are easily connected by frequent, efficient train services, but it gets busy - the Cinque Terra is very popular for international visitors. All the Inntravel hotels were of a very good standard and well located. Plenty of choices for dinner in all locations.
Travel hacks - pack some crocs or sliders for the beaches [especially Nice], the Cote D’Azur beachfront is mostly pebbles! Be prepared to pay to walk the trails in the Cirque Terra, its like Devon’s coastal path, but a [card] pay per entry between the villages/ towns. Better still, use the ferry connections, it’s a great way to see the coast. Check the boat schedule as poor weather prevents passage. We travelled by boat with the intention of walking or getting a train back..! And if you’re thinking of city breaks either end, consider smaller suitcases to ease the transfer movement between locations.
