Dublin

For a city break bursting with interest, history lovers need look no further than Dublin. From Ireland’s oldest university to a medieval castle, cathedral and must-visit former ‘gaol’ (prison), ancient appeal is everywhere. This is complemented by a cultural richness embodied by a vibrant live music scene, by the art galleries and street performances of the lively Temple Bar district, and by such absorbing museums as the National Gallery of Ireland.
There are plenty of opportunities to unwind, too: in the beautiful green spaces in the heart of town; by browsing the popular shops of Grafton Street; or – our personal favourite – at one of Dublin’s inviting distilleries, tempting local food markets or top-notch city restaurants.

  • Explore the city
    Our self-guided walking tour reveals not only Dublin’s history and heritage, but also its numerous green oases and generous choice of distilleries. The Guinness Storehouse is unmissable, if only for the views from its Gravity Bar, but we also recommend independent tasting experiences, and – for something a little different – the chance to enjoy afternoon tea while touring the city in a vintage double-decker bus! The Irish Emigration Museum delves brilliantly into the past, while a trip to Trinity College will bring you up close with one of Europe’s most magnificent libraries and its Book of Kells – Ireland’s greatest cultural treasure.
