French Country Auberges
 Small,
family-run hotels are a great French tradition. We have been offering
short breaks across the Channel since 1984 and know exactly what to look
for - lots of character, comfortable bedrooms, an attractive setting with
plenty of interest in the local vicinity and, above all, a welcoming atmosphere
and excellent cooking. We have worked with most of the hotels in our selection
for many years and enjoy a special relationship with the hoteliers, who
reserve a very warm welcome for our customers. Following the suggestions
in our detailed and regularly-updated customer documentation, you can
use these auberges as a base for a weekend of leisurely discovery - explore
out-of-the-way market towns, visit producers of local specialities, tour
through scenic countryside or stroll along the coast.
Breaks include a Channel crossing with P&O Ferries from Dover
to Calais and two nights
dinner and breakfast, except where stated.
 Flanders
& Picardy
Flanders and Picardy, so close to the Channel ports, are favourite regions
for a quick getaway at any time of the year. Good for shopping, exploring
market towns and visiting the WW1 battlefields, northern France also boasts
an atttractive coast and some picturesque valleys.
Hostellerie des Tourelles 2-star getaway just 30 minutes from
Calais. This is a really homely hotel, where families are very welcome
