  A handsome Tyrolean inn that has evolved over the centuries into one of the best-known and most coveted hotels in Val Gardena. The vast spa complex is an undoubted highlight – with thermal indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, Turkish baths and salt grottoes – as are the lavish breakfasts and dinners, the latter consisting of five to six courses (and preceded each day by an included light lunch and afternoon cake buffet). Bedrooms are light and spacious with panoramic balconies, while elsewhere the sophisticated décor features wood-panelled walls and oak-plank floors. The last word must go to the gardens – natural, tranquil and framed by superlative mountain scenery.
