first-rate cross-country trails from the door
historic mountain hotel
wide-ranging leisure facilities
beautiful scenery
In the heart of highland Norway, amid the mountains described so lyrically by Henrik Ibsen in his epic poem about the adventures of his legendary hero, Peer Gynt, is this deeply traditional upland valley and the small settlement of Fefor. It is an area of outstanding beauty between the awesome Jotunheimen Mountains and the Rondane National Park.
The cross-country skiing here is truly first-rate, and the secluded location means you can really get away from it all for a week. Along with the staff, many of whom have worked at the hotel for years, the management team is committed to providing high standards of service, and the food is excellent.
Rebecca Bruce, Product Manager for Scandinavia
The Fefor Hotel’s secluded position above a lake in its own woodland dale is magnificent, with miles of cross-country trails from the door which invite you to explore this beautiful, white wilderness. The enviable location of the hotel is complemented by the tranquil, relaxed atmosphere, a great sense of history – Captain Scott stayed here in 1891 to train for his Arctic expeditions – proud traditions of hospitality, and excellent facilities which rival those of any modern hotel and provide plenty to do on your return from the trails.
