Black Drongo, Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrush, Pied Bushchat, Spot-winged Grosbeak, Grey-backed Shrike, Spotted Nutcracker, White-capped Water Redstart… no, these are not names of characters from some new JK Rowling page-turner, but are – rather – just a few of the 100-plus different species of birds identified by Inntravel customer Stephen Warman on his Journey into the Himalayas with us during April.
Our thanks to Mr Warman for emailing us to share his enthusiasm and delight. By his own admission, he’s not a ‘twitcher’, as such, just someone who likes identifying birds with great names. As he recalls, “one of my regrets in recent years was spending time in Costa Rica and failing to see a Resplendent Quetzal”.
