Joanna Lumley began her new travel series last night in Athens, getting up close to the renovation work on the Parthenon and wandering into an Athens’ nightclub to watch those who still can, fritter their money away on throwing flowers at the cabaret (throwing plates is now banned because so many people were getting injured!).

Our near neighbours down the road have just been listed in a Top Ten of the "world's greatest mansions". I'm talking about Castle Howard, of course, who were named ahead of Chatsworth and the increasingly popular Downton Abbey - I mean, Highclere House. Castle Howard is a wonderful house, so, next time you're in Yorkshire, why not call in and see us after your tour there? We'd be delighted to see you...

A few months ago, one of our customers sent us a note after his walking holiday to the Catalan Pyrenees saying how much he and his wife had enjoyed themselves. “Everything was fab!” he said.
He also thanked us for arranging an ‘unofficial guide’ during the walk.

Well, here it is - David's final communication from Iceland. Linda has flown home and David has the task of driving back to southern Spain on his own. No doubt we'll hear from him again as he ventures forth on another research trip for Inntravel but, for now, this is the end of their amazing Icelandic saga...
