Your holiday price explained

Accommodation with a private bathroom (unless specifically stated) for the number of nights shown in the information panel. In the case of self-catering accommodation, bed linen, bathroom towels, heating, electricity and final cleaning are all included unless otherwise stated.

Meal arrangements as outlined in the holiday information panel. Where dinner is included, you usually dine from a half-board menu comprising 2 to 4 courses, often with regional specialities. Drinks are not included (except at breakfast).

Such as luggage transfers on holidays on which you walk or cycle between hotels; bike hire on cycling holidays; the services of a guide or instructor (plus equipment, where appropriate) on guided holidays; and car hire or local travel that is specifically described in the holiday itinerary. Rail travel is in second class unless otherwise stated.

Besides detailed cultural background information, the pack includes route notes and maps for all holidays specifically involving an element of walking or cycling, a cross-country or downhill plan for skiing holidays, and a road map if you are driving to and/or at your destination and you are booking your travel through us. (In some cases the map provided for the walking or cycling element of your holiday is comprehensive enough to double up as a driving map.)

We normally send your maps and route notes to your home (or other specified) address 2-3 weeks in advance of your holiday, so please let us know if you are travelling earlier than your Inntravel holiday is due to start so that we can send your final travel documents to you in good time.

Return flights (usually scheduled services, but sometimes charters) normally, but not always, from London in economy class, and connecting travel by rail/bus and/or vehicle transfer (taxi/minibus), as outlined in the relevant price panel. Note that you may share a vehicle transfer (taxi/minibus) with other Inntravel guests with similar flight arrival/departure times. (Unless specified, connecting travel by rail or bus is from the city-centre station, rather than the airport, and connections between the two should be paid for locally.)

Eurostar from London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet International to Lille or Paris in second class, with onward travel (again in second class) by TGV or other rail services, and a transfer where necessary to your hotel (we do not include transfers to city hotels).

A return Channel crossing from Folkestone to Calais with LeShuttle for your party (minimum 2 adults) and one car*. On hotel-to-hotel walking and cycling holidays, a transfer back to the first hotel to pick up your car is included where necessary. (*NB: supplements apply on certain dates over Easter, and at weekends during school holidays between May and November. See our self-drive page for full details.)

Connecting travel (usually rail* and/or taxi or hire car) from the most convenient airport(s) or city centre as stated in the price panel except in cases where transport options that can only be arranged and purchased locally offer the cheapest and/or most convenient option, in which case no connecting travel is included.
*(Unless stated otherwise, rail travel is from the city centre station, rather than the airport, and connections between the two should be paid for locally.)

None, other than elements that form an integral part of the holiday and are specifically stated in the description, such as car hire or local rail travel for some centre-based walks and journeys. However, we are able to book return connecting travel between the city into which you arrive and your first/last hotel, as shown in price panels, and we also offer a flight booking service.

Hire of an economy-size car for the period stated in the price panel. (If there are more than 2 people in your party, you may need to upgrade to a larger car.)

Additional amount payable if only one person is occupying a room. This is usually expressed as the total additional amount payable per single room for the whole holiday, except where we specifically state in the price panel that the supplement payable is per night (eg on most holidays in the snow).

Additional amount payable if you are travelling alone. 

Most of our holidays are self-guided, and we strongly advise anyone who plans to travel alone – particularly on a walking holiday – to call us to discuss arrangements.

All of our published ‘per person’ prices (including connecting travel) are calculated on the assumption that at least two people will be travelling together with both paying the per person price; costs for all shared services such as car hire, taxi journeys and luggage transfers are apportioned accordingly.

Therefore, in addition to the single room price shown in our panels, we may also need to charge a further supplement if you are travelling alone to cover the full cost of any services normally shared between two people. This is shown at the bottom of each price panel.

Additional amount payable to upgrade to a superior room (eg room with sea view etc), where available. Usually expressed per person per night (except for holidays in the snow, where the price is expressed per room per night).

Reduction to be applied to the overall holiday price for any third and fourth persons travelling in a party. All party members must travel together for the reduction to apply; if the holiday includes a hire car, Channel crossing or taxi transfer, the party must travel in one vehicle. We may be able to extend the reduction to additional travellers – this will depend on the holiday chosen and will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Price payable by each extra adult or child where there are more than 2 people in your party. Unless otherwise stated, this price assumes that the additional person(s) is/are travelling together with the rest of the party in the same car. It does not include a larger or additional hire car, nor a ferry crossing for another car in the case of self-drive holidays.

Price payable per person if, on holidays which include no travel, you are flying via our recommended airport(s) and wish us to book the onward travel arrangements stated in the price panel. Connecting travel is usually by rail, bus and/or taxi; unless otherwise stated, connecting travel by rail or bus tends to be from the city centre station, rather than from its airport, and connections between the two should be paid for locally.

Price payable per person for our suggested extension to your main holiday. The price includes accommodation and meals as described for the stated duration, and car hire or transfers to the hotel (or central railway station for city hotels; no transfer to the airport for your homeward journey is included if you are staying in that city). Prices may be different if you are not arranging your transfers for your main holiday through Inntravel, or have your own car; please contact us for a quotation if this is the case.

Price payable if you wish to add an extra night at a hotel which features in your chosen holiday, expressed per person per night based on two people sharing a double room (different prices apply if you require a single room) and the standard meal arrangements for that hotel, unless otherwise stated. Please contact us if no price is given for the hotel at which you wish to add an extra night. Unless stated otherwise, extra night prices for holidays with a hire car include an additional day’s car hire, and extra night prices for cycling holidays include an extra day’s cycle hire (except when you are staying in a large town or city at the start or end of your holiday).

Unless flights are included in the price of the holiday you are booking, we charge a £35 service fee per person (£15 for children aged 2-11 years) if you ask us to book flights on your behalf.
