Loved the long walk up Toter Man. No snow except on the high peaks.

The hotel staff prefer to speak German, which is fair enough. Our German is rubbish, but they seemed to like it when we had a go.
Unusually, Inntravel did not provide any useful walking maps in advance. We found that hotel reception had some excellent free maps hidden behind their desk – be brave and ask them. We found that one of the paths, up the hill behind the hotel, is currently closed due to falling rocks.
The hotel provides a handful of “Bio” teas for you to use in your room. If you like to wake up with a nice coffee in bed you will need to make your own arrangements. FYI, if you can’t scrounge some milk from the hotel, you can always buy a small bottle from the excellent village bakery, which is just beyond the tourist info office.
In the bathroom, the hotel provides a small piece of hand soap, and a small piece of soap-on-a-rope for the shower. If you require any other toiletries (e.g. shampoo), you should probably bring them with you.
To get the travel pass you need to ask reception to email you a link to a QR code. Currently the buses cannot read the codes, so you need to show the code to the bus driver, who will issue you with a guest card ticket which is valid for that day. If you travel on another day, you will need to get another guest card ticket for that day using the same QR code. Watch out, the buses are significantly reduced during school holidays.
As other people have said, the “canteen style” restaurant works well. The staff are very attentive, and the chefs skillfully produce an excellent choice of food including lots of traditional German fayre.

A truly magical holiday in one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in! Doing the whole journey by train was exciting, at times quite challenging buy way more interesting and adventurous than flying! Ramsau is a beautiful village, with a glorious clear blue river running through it. We cannot fault Berghotel Rehlegg in any way. We LOVED our holiday!! Thankyou Inntravel.

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Rehlegg and would highly recommend this holiday. There are many walks directly from the hotel, both along the river, round the lake and behind the hotel in the mountains. As there was little snow during our trip, we were able to access the higher level walks as well. There were one or two Alms open for lunch even during the winter, providing a welcome lunch after a hike. The weather was unseasonably warm and we walked without jackets on a couple of the days, despite it being mid-February!
The hotel is superb, with some of the best spa facilities we've ever used. I recommend the treatments but do book in advance as they are popular. The buffet dinner was varied and had many healthy options, with several vegetable and salad choices in addition to fish and meat. For the moderate or non-drinkers, the alcohol-free bar options were extensive. There is also a light lunch provided every day should you be around in the afternoon. It's the sort of hotel where couples and friends go for a few days to pamper themselves, so there were very few children or groups. Whilst walking, we got chatting to a local woman who expressed surprise when we said we were staying there for a whole week. It's clearly viewed as a high-end hotel where you go for a treat! I do a lot of fitness training so ran on the excellent trail to Hintersee and back a few times and used the hotel gym, which was sufficiently equiped.
We did a day trip to Salzburg and the travel there was very smooth. The bus from Ramsau to Berchtesgarden takes 15 minutes and is timed to meet with the Salzburg bus, meaning the whole journey takes 1 hour (take some cash for the Salzburg bus as the free bus pass doesn't cover that route). Salzburg can be easily done in the day as it's compact - we used the walking tour provided by Inntravel, which was easy to follow and informative.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff, good food and good facilities. I think we were lucky with the weather - cold, clear, blue sky and sunshine every day apart from arrival day which was grey and wet. Plenty of walks. Where there was snow it was firm and crisp due to the low temperatures overnight (-10C). Walking poles useful to cope with the occasional icy patch. Lovely to be in fresh mountain air.
Salzburg was an interesting city to visit and has lots to see. We spread our visit to it over 2 days: one to get an overall feel for the city and its places of interest and the second to explore the museum, art gallery and hilltop fortress in more detail.
Overall a lovely relaxing holiday.
An excellent choice of hotel, beautiful setting, lovely food and ambiance. Each stage of travel very well organised. Made use of free bus passes to travel further from Ramsau and then enjoy walks, we are not all day treckers!! No snow the first half of the week but enjoyed bus ride to Konigsee then cable car up the Jennerbahn to reach some snow. Also borrowed the hotel electric smart car to get closer to the deer feeding station near Hintersee. Once the snow fell the whole area was even more magical, lovely holiday.
A wonderfully calm and restorative stay. Staff were kind and accommodating, particularly of our terrible German. The spa and surroundings were lovely, and the room spacious and stylish. Local walks and trips were great.
Hotel Rehlegg is a superb hotel with excellent spa facilities. The location is ideally placed for beautiful walks to Hintersee within a comfortable distance. The scenery is breathtaking and the communal areas of the hotel have views to the mountain and the local village has small shops and a bakery.
The hotel staff are friendly and extremely professional. The food is delicious, varied and plentiful and caters for all taste and dietary needs.
I would sincerely recommend this holiday
