Cross-country skiing

As you would expect of a domain that has hosted the Winter Olympics, the cross-country skiing here is superb, with many rewarding options for intermediate and advanced skiers. One of these leads to Nordsetter, skirting one side of the fjells before returning on the other, providing views over Mellsjøen and Kroksjøen Lakes. You can also ski all the way down to Lillehammer before catching the bus back.

Cross-country skiing

Sjusjøen also caters very well for beginners, with its sheltered terrain and gentle trails leading from the hotel door through trees and along by the lake. There is also a British instructor on hand, Keith Richardson, who knows the fells and trails here intimately and whose expertise and patience earn him high praise from Inntravel guests. Keith has written a fun and informative guide to cross-country skiing, which we are pleased to include with our compliments.

Downhill skiing

If you fancy a fun day or two of alpine skiing, Sjusjøen offers a small downhill area comprising seven slopes primarily for beginners and intermediates, accessed by taxi.

Other activities

Other activities available locally include dog-sledding and snowshoeing.
