Hotel Drei Zinnen, Moso

A really enjoyable holiday. The hotel is excellent - food is delicious and staff are very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the guided snowshoeing although the groups are quite big. We generally had to restrict the winter walking to lower levels due to low cloud level and poor weather but still really enjoyed the scenery.

Hotel Drei Zinnen is a mid-sized old-fashioned hotel. Bedrooms are functional, no frills. My single room was north-facing (I didn't opt for an up-grade) with attractive views down valley of the church and village roof tops, with snowy mountains all around. The big 'plus' is the quality of the communal rooms on the ground floor - a choice of comfortable spaces to read, drink coffee, chat, or simply enjoy the ambience and the view. I didn't try the sauna. Dining reflects the local cuisine, fresh and more than ample, with service efficient and always friendly. Good atmosphere. The four walks suggested in the Inntravel notes were varied and enjoyable with cosy huts for refreshments, but were you to need 6 days of walking these would not suffice. Innichen/San Candido, just a short (free) bus ride away, offers architectural charm and retail opportunities. Was surprised/disappointed that the walking notes supplied pre-departure contained no map whatsoever. Inntravel, please note: many clients like to plan ahead. Surely a free hand-out map from the local tourist office could be supplied?    

The Drei Zinnen hotel is very special in terms of its exceedingly great food, friendly service and the most famous location in the Dolomites. The Tyrolean Modern architecture is splendid. There is a lovely relaxed ambiance because guests know they are being well looked-after in wonderful surroundings by staff that care. The wellness area is just right. Taken together with nearby Dobbiaco it offers spectacular cross country skiing. Highly recommended!

The hotel rooms were so spacious and the views of the Drei Zinnen from the hotel bedrooms and sitting room were great.

There was a cross country ski trail that you could access within minutes from the back of the hotel. We liked the modern take on the South Tyrolean cuisine.

One tip we would make is that when you are travelling on the trains on Sunday in the area, there are not many cafes that are open during the day time so it would be best to follow the Austrians' /South Tyroleans' habit of taking packed food for the journey. 

The views were amazing.

The food was excellent and I didn't feel disappointed as a pescatarian.

The hotel had a nice atmosphere and I loved the art everywhere.

The wellness area was just what was needed after a days walking.

We were thoroughly spoilt and it was a very relaxing holiday.

We were pleased that we had upgraded to a south facing room, it was spacious with fantastic views but the lighting could have been better.

We thought the only possible phone charging socket was the hairdryer one in the bathroom, we learnt later that we could have taken out the bedside light socket which would have taken the adapters. We hadn't met this before.

I would suggest that the mattresses should have an under sheet of some kind as the one thin sheet meant that the mattresses buttons, which in this case were plastic tags, dug into one.

The staff were all very attentive and most spoke at least some English and there were fresh flowers everywhere which was a nice touch.

There was no choice of cakes with the afternoon tea.

Overall it was a small friendly quiet hotel well placed for all the winter activities. We really enjoyed our stay.

This was a most enjoyable holiday and consistent with Inntravel's customary high standards.  We went for winter walking and were pleased to find there was a sufficient variety of walking opportunities to fill the six days very satisfactorily.  We were fortunate to have dry and mostly sunny weather, which always helps!  The local bus service which runs the length of the valley stops just a few minutes from the hotel and provides a reliable half-hourly service, giving access to all the various walking routes.  The provided winterwanderweg walking map is a useful indicator of walking options in the area.  Our highlights were a walk from the top of the Stiergarten cablecar down to the Kreuzbergpass at the head of the valley - from where you could get the bus back to the hotel, 'though we chose to walk back through the woods - and the seafood buffet meal one evening in the hotel.  San Candido/Innichen has a small attractive pedestrianised centre which includes Tito: Il Maso dello Speck shop, a strongly-recommended foodie destination for those who fancy taking some wonderful speck or other cured meats home.

Moso - We loved the relaxed atmosphere and exceptional food at the Drei Zinnen. The staff were welcoming and friendly and I wish I could wake to that view every day! The hotel was spotlessly clean and ideally placed for access to all of the local activities, with plenty for both skiers and non -skiers alike to occupy themselves with. I would heartily recommend it to anyone.

Innsbruck - The staff at the Hotel Maximillian were efficient and helpful. I'm not sure I have ever seen such a clean hotel- the bathroom positively glistened! The breakfast offered both quantity and quality, with a wide choice of typical continental breakfast foods, plus very tasty egg, bacon and sausage for the cooked breakfast fans. Ideally situated for exploring the old town, there was a wide range of restaurants and bars within a short distance and transfer to the airport was very simple, given the taxi rank across the road.

Plenty to do in the local area even if you don't ski. Food in Hotel was excellent and staff very accommodating for those in the party that had allergies and dislikes. Although dinner was a set menu this gave you the opportunity to sample local dishes that I would never normally have picked. Staff very friendly, helpful and multilingual.

Rooms a little dated but that said very comfortable and perfect nights sleep after a day out in the fresh air.

Very good views and atmosphere at two mountain side huts Klammbachalm and Froneben. Meals at the Hotel Drei Zinnen, and just the whole atmosphere of a traditional serious (but not grand) hotel.

Innsbruck is worth a full day's visit (and thus two nights).

This is a fantastic holiday - we are not skiers but fit and active and wanted to experience a winter holiday in the mountains - this was perfect.  We made use of the snowshoeing guided tours for three days of our week and loved it - would definitely do it again.  Equally, the hiking was great with lovely huts to stop at for a coffee.  Hotel Drei Zinnen is very comfortable, would highly recommend getting a south facing room.  Food is lovely and the homemade cake on return from an active day, is very welcome.  It is situated in a nice little village with a well stocked supermarket and bakery.  There is also very easy access to cross country skiing, ski slopes and the slightly scary 5km toboggan run!

Really enjoyed snowshoeing trip and cross country skiing. Although snowshoes provided free I suggest you make the hotel/ ski school list of suitable clothing and food necessary available on your website as we had forgotten to take vacumn flasks for a hot drink (easily purchased in village store).

Delightful hotel with a lovely atmosphere and welcoming staff. We had an upgraded room and loved the view. The meals were more than ample and delicious but we had to turn some courses down as there was so much. 

The piste signposting is a bit variable and the maps not hugely specific for fine detail. 

Personal highlights were the walks from the top of the Drei Zinnen gondola to Kreuzbergpass and the Toblach Lake circuit. they were different from each other but both in beautiful scenic landscape. we had fun on the 5km toboggan run, if slightly scary! We did it twice. By buying the 3 days out of 4 gondola pass we were able to access everywhere and also used the bus/train pass locally to good advantage.

The walk to Fischleintal is very short if you follow your instructions and take the bus. We were advised by another guest that it was easily accessed from the back of the hotel across to Bad Moos and onwards which we did. All the lunch stops on the walks were perfect for local soup and refreshments.

Generally an excellent hotel and resort for snow-walking. The free use of local bus and rail a real bonus.

A wonderful winter holiday. The highlight was the trip up the Drei Zinnen gondola, and then the walk down to Kreuzbergpass, via Klammbachalm.

The hotel food was superb, and we enjoyed the musical evening too.

Innichen and Toblach were pretty little towns and well worth the visit. 

We did not do the horse-drwan sleigh ride. At 46 euro for about 5 minutes seemed expensive.

The staff at the Drei Zinnen were warm and welcoming, the facilities were excellent (great Wellness area with Turkish steam room, dry sauna, whirlpool and relaxing area) and when my wife became ill they ensured that we were looked after.

We were very lucky to have a week of unbroken sunshine, cold crisp temperatures and lovely snow conditions.

We enjoyed walking on the trails, most of which are well signposted, and well prepared.

We did a couple of snowshoe walks, one of which was quite an adventure, but enjoyable.

We used the local cross country ski trails, again, well prepared.

The huts are very welcoming.

If you are just walking, do try using the cable cars to get up high, the guided snowshoe walks give you this opportunity.

This is a beautiful area, the views are stunning, and the light on the mountains in the early morning as the sun comes up is memorable. We certainly want to return, there is more to explore.

We very much enjoyed this holiday. We appreciate the effort required to co-ordinate the hotel and sleeper train bookings but you were able to deliver the holiday we wanted. The Drei Zinnen region makes every effort to make it easy to travel around. They are flexible on skii hire and ski passes, whether for one day or several. 

The hotel staff and the food were highlights as were the beautiful vistas and the well prepared cross-country tracks.

The Drei Zinnen area has some wonderful winter walking both in the valleys and higher up with stunning views. The hotel is very comfortable with good wholesome food and plenty of it. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. With our city add ons in Zurich and Bern we had a wonderful time.

Beware of skiers - very little respect for walkers. Local bus and train services were excellent and covered by the holiday pass from the hotel. Lovely holiday - plenty of snow, wonderful scenery, plenty of calories consumed and expended. The odd request that I really needed a bath, and this was a deal breaker, was taken seriously - the bath was very good.

This was a fabulous holiday and in which the travel appeared complex - flight and 3 trains with two changes but it was very easy and enjoyable. The facilties at the Innsbruck Railway station were excellent with a small supermarket and other shopping facilties available.

The Hotel Drei Zinnen is a special place with friendly hospitality and fantastic views of the peaks, with beautiful public spaces, including a wonderful dining room. The food was delicious and we enjoyed trying Tyrolean wines. The New Years feast was special and it was fun to celebrate there. Room 36 was wonderful, south facing, on the first floor with three way views.

There was easy access to a lovely circular blue cross country ski track right in front of the hotel and wonderful winter walking directly from the hotel or via the bus from outside.

The Walking Trails took us to some amazing Huttes with spectacular views as well as gluhwein & strudel to fortify us! The trails were easily accessible either directly from the hotel or a short bus ride away.

The Drei Zinnen area is somewhat of a hidden and quiet gem -  perfect for our various activies of ski-ing, XC ski-ing and walking. Happily the high activity levels don't make you feel guilty in indulging in the superb food!  The spa is exceptional.
