A Taste of the Vaudoise Alps

The majestic mountains of Lake Geneva
This Holiday in a nutshell
  • self-guided hotel-to-hotel walking, luggage transported
  • traditional, welcoming hotels
  • dramatic high-mountain scenery
  • exhilarating walking
  • chance to see iconic Alpine flora and fauna
  • free use of mountain transport

The majestic Vaudoise Alps rise abruptly from the wide Rhône Valley at the eastern end of Lac Léman (Lake Geneva). These jagged limestone peaks, wooded ridges and wide green valleys dotted with small villages combine to create the classic Alpine landscape. The forests and meadows abound with wildlife, including marmots, bearded vultures and chamois, while the high meadows are carpeted with colourful flowers in early summer.

The high peaks above the village were once thought to be the work of the devil, hence its name, though today the majestic mountains that surround Les Diablerets provide a thrilling place to explore.

On this fantastic break, you can take advantage of the local transport network to shorten some routes and to gain height for some exhilarating and rewarding walks. The well-signed paths make route-finding easy and offer fabulous views across some of Switzerland’s most beautiful scenery, which includes the dramatic glacier above Les Diablerets.
