From the French to the Swiss Alps

A thrilling ten-night Alpine experience

If you've experienced this holiday first hand, why not write a review?

We are keen for as many customers as possible to review their holiday. To make it easier to do so, since 2 October 2015 we have included a specific review section on our post-holiday questionnaire, and this is what we now publish here, unedited. Read our full review policy >

Mr G Nash  London August 2017

Scenery was gorgeous. Food was really good for the most part. Walks were perfect for adults and kids who are in shape and willing to hike between 7-10 miles/day; our youngest was 12 and he really enjoyed the hikes. Hikes were physically challenging, which is exactly what we wanted! If someone has bad knees though, this is not the hiking trip for them...

Colin and Caroline, Southsea   July 2017

We particularly enjoyed the ridge walk on day 5 whilst at Chatel but each day had special attractions. We also found the ascents for the walks chose especially attractive paths with plenty of interest. We chose this holiday because we thought it would be less frequented than some of the more well known areas and found that we had the path to ourselves for long periods. The mid-alpine scenery was very attractive with regularly changing vistas and views. We also found the walks challenging but increasingly easier as we became fitter. All the food and hotels were excellent with rooms with balconies and extensive views.

Mr D McLeod  Dunblane July 2017

Given that the hotel at Abondance was less luxurious than the others in the valley, I suggest that the stay in the Valley Abondance could become a one centre stay based upon Les Gentianettes at La Chappelle d'Abondance with transfers either by taxi or public transport to and from the start and ends of walks. Otherwise an extremely successful and enjoyable holiday.

Mr P Reedy  York July 2017

Stunning scenery and first class walking with hotels in some stunning locations. Inntravel proved to be the best of the trekking holiday providers we have used. Beware the very high prices for food and wine in this area though, particularly in Switzerland.

Mr A Walker   June 2017

Walking poles essential for pensioners!

Wonderful varied walks, along river banks full of wild flowers, towering forests, orchids and gentians on the mountain meadows, cow bells in the distance and dramatic views of snow-capped peaks.
