Time in Vallehermoso was a highlight; the walks were excellent and the restaurant El Carraca did us proud.
We strongly advise people to book their evening meals as pressure on the small restaurants was considerable. It doesnt need to be days in advnace but turning up cold might disappoint and there are few alternatives.
The hotel Parador was a luxurious end to the trip.
Inntravel co-ordinated every detail and there were no slips at all. The hotel choices were all lovely and picnics and evening meals in the villages were easy for us to sort.
The walks were well chosen but certainly challenging and we chose to shorten some of them which was straightforward. The route notes were really excellent but downloading the PDFs onto Alltrails also helped with navigation.
Our highlight was the Hermigua to San Sebastián walk which had tremendous variation in the vegetation, geology and views.

All very well organised. Transport and luggage transfer worked well. The walk was more challenging than we expected. Not sure if that was explained enough in the brochure or if we just misjudged it. The down hill sections were long, steep and loose stones underfoot which proved unpleasant walking. Route notes were pretty accurate, and timings not bad tho we usually took longer! Restaurants all good. Wine cheap! Lovely scenery.
La Gomera is a beautiful island with charming hotels and restaurants. We really enjoyed walking there and Inntravel arranged it perfectly. The weather in early January was borderline too hot for walking.
As we have been to La Gomera before, our highlight was finding the island is even more lovely than we remembered. It seemed very green and lush in Dec/Jan but we were lucky to have sunny weather and walked in light trousers and a t-shirt. The evenings are colder and a warm jacket was needed. We liked the hills around Valhermoso. The first walk we did was up to the chapel of Santa Clara, but we didn't go all the way to the Chorros de Epina, but cut back on a higher route by accident - we were enjoying the views and the columns of basalt, so we carried on and rejoined the 'correct' trail further on. Herman at Anaterve told us that the walk from Igualero to Valhermoso is long and tiring, so we opted to start the walk from El Cercado instead and got the taxi to take us there. We really enjoyed the national park and laurisilva/ wax myrtle forest which is after Las Hayas. We liked staying at the Anaterve as it was authentic and restored by Herman. There is a massive wine press in their dining room. They did a great picnic of a omelette bocadillo - I might just take up this idea (never had one before). We walked to Agulo and enjoyed the trail very much. However, there is a section of difficult path in the shade on descent to Agulo that was very slippery even through it had not rained. Poles were essential, and take it steady, avoiding the black shiny rocks if you can. For the final section into Agulo we cheated and took the concrete road. The visitor centre had closed early for New Year's Eve so we missed out on seeing that. An alternative might be to phone a taxi from there. We stayed at Los Helechos in Agulo, which was an apartment room with cooking facilities. We enjoyed staying there.
As a tip, be cautious going over New Year, as most restaurants are not open and taxis are difficult to find. We were told most were not working because the young people are supported to go to San Sabastian with a free bus service. Walking from Agulo to Hermigua is not a good idea after dark, as the paths are too tricky and the road too dangerous. On New Years Eve we had a restaurant in Hermigua booked but because we were unable to find a taxi Jorgi took us there and back, which was very kind of him. Similarly, on New Years Day there were no restaurants open in Agulo.
Agulo is an interesting old village to wander round for a while and you can look up at the visitor centre on the top of the cliff, which has a glass walkway over the cliff (we didn't visit it though). We walked to Hermigua and back. The sea is great at Hermigua as it makes a great noise as the waves break and the stones rattle down the shore.
The walk to San Sebastian is an enjoyable one, and the views of Tenerife were lovely. At the Parador we found the evening meals to be variable in quality, and the service took a long time but was better on our last night. The local fish dish with the wrinkled potatoes was the one I liked the best. The salad starters were a good choice and for dessert I liked the Gofio mousse. The breakfast is fine and the hotel has gorgeous gardens and lovely interior courtyard garden with a fountain. We went for meals in town last time we stayed there and enjoyed them more - but it is a stiff climb back up to the hotel afterwards. We had booked a couple of extra nights so we had a rest day, with lunch in San Sebastian and time by the pool. The next day we did the Inntravel walk to the beach. It is a good walk with great views. The beach consists of very large pebbles except for a small area at the very far end. We had our picnic but didn't take our boots off! It's slightly unfortunate that above this beach is the town refuse site, and there was a lot of plastic blown across the hillside above the beach. It doesn't detract from the walk too much. The final day we took a taxi to the Degollada de Peraza and walked down the GR131 into town. The first part was in shadow and there were a few of those slippery rocks, so a slow start, but the path dried out further on and we could relax and walk without fear of slipping. The views are lovely.
Hotel Tamahuche (in Vallehermosso) was so good we had lunch and dinner there - great vegan options. This was a lovely holiday, ideal for the week before Christmas. We had the routes to ourselves and the views were wonderful. To finish in a Parador was perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed discovering La Gomera and the varied landscapes, food and flora. The walking was hard at times (steep ascents and descents) so boots with good grip and poles useful. The Teide extension was well worthwhile but it is important to book the licence to get up to the top of Teide well in advance (as soon as you've booked the holiday if within 6 months) and book the cable car on line to line up with the 2hour slot on the licence. And if you don't have the licence you only have 1 hour at the top of the cable car which isn't clear from the Volcano Teide website.
This was our first holiday with Inntravel and it certainly won't be our last. We really enjoyed every aspect of our trip and would recommend La Gomera wholeheartedly. Apart from a couple of minor teething problems with our booking, we found the entire experience stress-free, efficient and thoroughly enjoyable. We are a couple in our mid sixties, fairly fit & healthy and enthusiastic walkers. We were concerned that the walking in La Gomera might be a little over-ambitious but we loved it and, although it was challenging and sometimes very strenuous, we felt totally exhilarated and fulfilled at the end of each day. The weather in early November was perfect for walking and we were lucky enough to have glorious sunshine when we arrived back in San Sebastián. I must admit we made the most of it and relaxed completely at the beautiful Parador.
Wonderful walking on a beautiful island. Hotel Anaterve and hosts brilliant but food in Vallehermoso very problematic. Tasca Agana under new management and poor when we went as was Bar Kiosko which was the only place open on the Tuesday. New hotel opened on our last night and food excellent (only place that had rabbit) called Hotel Tamahuche. Parador beautiful with lovely room although the seaview was of a large carpark and then the sea. Food very disappointing. Average at best but given the price we would say it was poor. Had we known we would not have booked the extra night there whereas the extra nights in Vallehermoso were great.
We would recommend this holiday to anyone who likes to go somewhere a bit different. The people we met were all so friendly and helpful and rhe scenery was spectacular. We didn't get to see the streams and waterfalls as it has been so dry but we did enjoy the virtual experience in the MuseoPEG Los Telares. We enjoyed all our walks bar the steps in Agulo. The scenery is so varied and every day was different. The views were breathtaking. The notes didn't really make much if the fact it was festival time. Lots of restaurants were closed so sometimes it was hard to find somewhere to eat.
This is a fascinating walk on an unspoilt island. In parts it's very green (the moss draped laurisilva), but quite a bit of the walking is up barren rocky paths, albeit with cactii on either side and palm trees on the distant lower slopes.
The first destination (Vallehermoso) is worthy of a couple of extra nights since there are five possible walks, and a couple could be split. The 'must do' walk is from Igualero to Vallehermoso - it's the only one that really gets you into the laurisilva - which are wonderful. It's long, but relatively easy, although you should be starting it at 9.00 am (take a snatched breakfast or none at all, it's worth it).
An extra couple of nights at the final destination Parador is also very worthwhile. It's fairly luxurious and the pool is great. Rather than traipsing over a rocky hillside for a final walk I'd recommend a half day wandering around San Sebastian in Columbus's footsteps reflecting upon the adventure that took him to the 'New' World (disastrous if you reflect upon what Europeans did in the Americas).
Several further observations - I was in La Gomera in September. On a sunny day it could get very hot. Great, until you have a long upward trek. But if it rains, beware, the paths can become treacherous streams. Finally, prompted by earlier comments, I bought a single Leki walking pole. I don't like them and as a (once) young lad I could do without them. But on La Gomera's steep paths I really did find it very useful. And there was always the option of unscrewing it and packing it away. Finally, don't swallow the times given for the walks. These days I always add on a couple of hours (meandering, getting lost, resting etc) to the walking times. But on La Gomera this was insufficient. I'm no spring chicken, but I can walk all day, for eight hours or more ... and this was just as well. Some of the climbs seemed to go on, if not forever, then for a lot longer than I was used to. But ... well here I am. I made it (just).
Excellent holiday - we thoroughly enjoyed it!
The restaurant at the Churros de Epina was a welcome stop and the ensalata de casa was very good. In Hermigua there is a tapas bar (bar pedro) just down the hill from the hotel which was excellent and very well priced. Unfortunately it was closed on the Monday so we went to the Faro at the bottom of the hill which was mediocre and overpriced. I can't remember whether this was in the information you provided us but we found the climate around Vallehemosa much milder and wetter (esp afternoon/evening sea fog) than around San Sebastián.
Probably my favourite Canary Island (2nd visit) as it really is stunningly gorgeous, with great views and friendly people. Igualero to Vallehermoso walk was my highlight due to variety. Choose a day when there are less clouds, so you get to see the stunning views. We chose to eat at the Amparo restaurant - superb, local food and great covered terrace overlooking the barranco.
Great organisation, as ever, by Inntravel and good selection of routes. Parador at the end was just the ticket to relax around the pool.
La Gomera is a walker's paradise with the most fantastic views from nearly every vantage point. Some of the walks were certainly not for the faint-hearted, with many long ascents and descents but every one was thoroughly enjoyed. The weather held and simply added to the beauty of the island. Every La Gomeran we met was friendly, helpful and wanted to chat, but it is useful to have a modicum of basic Spanish. A fabulous destination!!
La Gomera is very different indeed from other islands with many resorts in the Canaries. There is a strong sense of community fostered by the remote feeling of the island. Expect the walks to involve strong climbs followed by matching descents - flatness is not a strong feature of this holiday!
We enjoyed all the walks, except one walk from Vallehermosa as the weather was poor and the decribed timings seemed over-optimistic.
The food was fantastic at all the local restaurants - the paella and cuttlefish at La Escuella Vieja were mouth watering and the meals at the Parador were just amazing. We loved Anaterve and Helechos Hotels. Such welcoming hosts and comfortable accomodation. Trekking poles were a must as some of the descents are very steep and slippery in poor weather. Also some warm clothes in particular for the evenings but needed when the clouds some down.
A great holiday. Beautiful walks in stunning scenery in comfortable walking temperatures in late Feb. Seemless organisation from Inntravel with comprehensive walking notes and directions ensured confidence and enjoyment throughout the holiday. Accommodation was excellent with welcoming comfortable hotels and the final stay at the Parador in San Sebastien was outstanding.
spectacular views and fascinating flora
Hotel Anaterve was a highlight. The long walk from Igualero back to Vallehermoso was our favourite with spectacular scenery.It was the hardest especially the long descent at the end.We definitely needed our walking poles on all the walks.Restaurant El Carraca in Vallehermoso was excellent and worth making a reservation for as it was busy.We had a disappointing meal in Tasca Agana as did another couple we met and wonder if the owners have changed .
The walk from Vallehermoso to Hermigua was also a highlight especially the first half. It included a steep descent from the mirador to Agulo which needed a head for heights.
The weather at the beginning of February was warm in the daytime but cool in the evenings especially in Vallehermoso.
It is definitely worth spending an extra night in Vallehermoso.Overall an excellent walking holiday in a lovely location.
We are 2 pretty fit 70 year olds, well used to walking, but with back and knee issues. We completed 5 days of walking, 3 long day walks with 2 shorter half day walks in between. They are all challenging, even the short walks are not to be trifled with and poles are essential on all walks. There are many steep ascents/descents and very few flat sections. We were blessed with good weather throughout, not too hot and with some cloud cover. The scenery is spectacular. Our first day walk was to Santa Clara Ermita, lovely spot and then on towards Chorros de Epina, we chose to go the shorter version along a road which was a bit of a trudge. The walk from Valheromoso to Agulo is tough, but magnificent, however we chose not to walk the final, extremely steep path from Mirador Abrante to Agulo (alternative route closed due to landslide), took a taxi instead. Best 35 Euros we spent all trip. The walk into San Sebastien is one of those walks that is a bit longer and tougher than it seems, not a doddle by any means. We chose not to walk on our final day. On completion we felt a massive sense of accomplishment, as we did have pre trip doubts as to whether we were up to the task. We now have some truly wonderful memories.
The walking in La Gomera can be quite challenging at times, you need a head for heights and good footwear and walking poles are essential. The areas we walked were very mountainous and could be hard on the knees when descending. We particularly liked the walking round Vallehermoso which we preferred to Agulo.
Fantastic experience of mountainous walking on a beautiful unspoilt Canary Island. Very friendly local people and staff in the accommodations. Excellent walk notes, detailed information and back-up from Inntravel.
Early December seemed an excellent time to walk La Gomera. It was high 20s each day. We wouldn't want to it to be any hotter!! In our 50s, walking poles are essential!!!
If I could, I would give Inntravel 12 stars out of 10!
Everything about our experience with Inntravel was superb. They were thorough, helpful and efficient, with really great attention to detail.
Every aspect of our trip felt supported and looked after. The hotels were great, and the walking routes suggested were beautiful and very accurately described.

Download GPX files even if you don't intend to follow them, so you can check if you're off route. Bring a head torch if walking in the winter, in case it takes longer than expected. Wonderful scenery and very lucky with the weather and fortunately met another couple following the same itinerary so we supported each other along the way. Really enjoyable and a real sense of achievement to have done it.The best walk was from Igualero having taken a taxi to the top. Wonderful views. Through the woods very special and loved all the cacti along the routes.
I was delighted with the whole Hidden Gems of the Canaries walking holiday. The organisation from Inntravel was first class as were the different types of accommodation in the 3 towns I stayed in: Vallehermoso (Añaterve), Agulo (Casa Helechos) and San Sebastián (Parador). The hospitality from Herman & Amala in Vallehermoso and Jorge & Josefina in Agulo was wonderful; I was made to feel very much at home. The Parador is a different type of accommodation but the welcome and service was, as you'd expect from a Parador, top-class. The walks were indeed challenging at times, as expected from the information provided by Inntravel, due to the spectacular scenery, but the effort was well-rewarded with outstanding views. As regards the walk from Igualero to Vallehermoso, there is the option to shorten the walk by starting at one of the other villages but I'm certainly glad I didn't as I would have missed out on probably the most stunning part of the walk from Igualero to Las Hayas. The walk from Vallehermoso to Agulo included a visit to the impressive Mirador de Abrante viewpoint, with stunning views down to the village of Agulo and across to Tenerife and Mount Teide. Overall. it was a brilliant experience and such a thrill to discover the beautiful hidden gem of La Gomera.
On our first day we did Option A (Vallehermoso to the Chorros de Epina) and really enjoyed the climb to the chapel in the morning with the sudden view across to Mount Teide. In the afternoon we were in low cloud, so missed the views on our descent back into Vallehermoso. On our walk over to Agulo we again particularly enjoyed the climb up Roque Cano. We also really enjoyed staying in the old historic part of the town at Agulo, and the limited choice of restaurants nearby was not a problem to us. Finally, we again enjoyed the route over to San Sebastian, and also the walk over to Playa de la Guancah plus having the extra night at the Parador to explore San Sebastian.
One of the highlights was the Hotel Anaterve, which we chose and booked, and which you now use.
All the walks were wonderful. Due to the rockfall above Agulo, you provided an alternative route. This involves an extremely steep descent to the village and was quite treacherous in the heavy rain we had that day. If this alternative route is to be long term, please warn clients. We could not have tackled it without walking poles. We met some of your long term clients on this walk and they agreed with us.

A challenging Grade 3 walk in beautiful unspoilt coutryside. Luckily weather cloudy for days 2 and 3, those routes in full sun would have been tricky to complete I think.
The walks were all spectacular if challenging. We were particularly impressed with Inntravels action when there was a landslide on one of our routes. They quickly contacted us, made us aware of the situation and arranged a taxi transfer to avoid the blocked path. We talked to other travellers with different companies who were left to negotiate this situation without any support.
The Parador is a lovely spot to relax at the end of the holiday. The balance of 4 days walking and 2 days relaxation at the end worked well for us. Because we had an extra night at the Parador we ate out in San Sebastion one night and would have been sorry to miss this if all nights had been half board. Others may like the option to stay B and B only.
Most enjoyable. Hard walking, but all manageable. Worth it for the views. Personally didn't find the need for poles, but may have been useful if the ground had been wet.
Inntravel were very good at contacting us whilst we were away to tell us of a change of route due to a recent rockfall.
The rural accomodations and local food experiences particularly in Agulo were the highlights. It was very hot at the beginning of September but there were very few people on the trails.
The organisation from Inntravel was outstanding and the scenery, views and flora on the island were superb. We can recommend this holiday without reservation. We used the App Komoot to follow the provided gpx files and paid for the offline version. The walks were very varied. We particularly enjoyed the walks between the hotels and the circular walk Vallehermoso to Epina.
La Gomera was that hidden gem! Spectacular scenery and some challenging but rewarding walks. Ending the holiday in the Parador made for a relaxing end to this holiday.
The highlights were the Option D day 1, 23Km walk, but be ready for a relentless 1700M decent at the end - take walking poles! Also, the walk from Vallehermoso to Agulo was spectacular - dont miss the optional 700M walk to the skywalk viewpoint (despite the very claggy clay to wade through to get there!). Do check flight arrival times and ferry crossing times to ensure enough time (there are bars & restaurants within a shortish walk at either end). 2 hours was not enough on our return!
The restaurants close one day a week - it is worth planning your arrival day for the walk itinery to take this into account - perhaps Inn travel could assist more here. The weather was very wet and windy for us, affecting views at the tops and cold evenings even at low levels. Perhaps the wonderful plants are due to this weather! Take layers as well as waterpoofs!
HIGHLIGHTS: On the ferry from Tenerife to San Sebastian, looking out of the window to see a pod of dolphins accompanying us. The wonderful walk from the hotel at Vallehermoso via Santa Clara to Epina was a great way to start the holiday with mountain scenery, views out to sea beyond Arguamul and the cultivated valley on the gentle climb to Epina. Two solitary hours picnicking and swimming on the empty beach - playa de la Caleta. The final afternoon reading, swimming and relaxing by the outdoor pool in the Parador de La Gomera was a lovely way to complete what was a perfect walking holiday.
On a final note, for non-Spanish speakers it is really worth while having a few stock phrases in Spanish at hand as English is not spoken as widely on La Gomera as it is elsewhere in some of the larger islands of the archipelago.
One of the many highlights of this brilliant holiday was the walk from Vallermoso to Agulo - the challenge of the climb, the rewarding views of the sea and views of Mount Teide from the ridge and the descent into Agulo with the significant changes in plants and climate. The Mirador was spectacular and certainly tested my head for heights!!
A fabulous week walking on the beautiful island of La Gomera - we were very impressed with our Inntravel folder containing all the information that we needed - the directions and route information was spot on and with the exception of trying to follow a goat track rather than look for a path heading up .... again! we managed all directions easily. We were reasonably fit ladies in our 50's and although slightly daunted by the size of the mountains we loved the challenge and didn't find the walls too difficult. The only route which we found slightly more challenging was the incredibly steep slope down and back up on the optional walk from Agulo to the lovely beach - I do suffer from vertigo and this was the only time that I had to dig deep!! The accommodation was all lovely and varied and the Parador Hotel was absolutely fabulous. The local food was great and reasonably priced as was the house wine. We weren't able to get accommodation on La Gomera on our first night so stayed in Tenerife - the hotel was more than basic and a disappointing start to our holiday and also reduced our walking time - if we had realised when booking we would have changed our dates ..... however once on La Gomera we had the best time & would highly recommend it!
An enjoyable holiday on a fascinating island.
This is a fantastic holiday well organised by Inntravel. The scenery is spectacular. The walks are moderate to challenging as described (you do need some head for heights). The island is unspoilt and the Parador presents a great opportunity to relax at the end of 5 days strenuous walking.
La Gomera is a beautiful island and the walks suggested by Inntravel were varied and scenic. Visiting in early March, our first few days were windy and quite chilly, even in the daytime, and we would have benefited from having packed more warm clothing. Walks to the Hermitage of Santa Clara, from Vallehermoso to Agulo and from Las Hayas to Vallehermoso were highlights. We took longer to do the walks than suggested as we are slow and very careful when descending, but as none of the walks is excessively long we didn't ever get to the end any later than about 4 pm. We did not do the circular Agulo walk but heard from others that it was quite treacherous in places, and no one we met did it in full as a result. The last walk out of San Sebastián is the least interesting of the walks we did. Vallehermoso is an amazing starting point for walks in every direction, although the town itself seemed to have only one cafe open in the during the day and was a bit lifeless. Agulo is a very pretty village and a nice place to spend a day wandering: the hotel there was quiet and charming and the proprietor helpful and friendly. The parador in San Sebastián made a lovely luxurious end to the holiday.
On the whole we enjoyed our week in La Gomera, it is undoubtably a very special island. The cloud forest, and information centre were very memorable. It was good to understand what life was like there in the past. Also the explanation of the horrific fires in 2012 was enlightening. So pleased to see the island recovering, and the amazing work of conservationists needs encouragement. We felt that 3 days in the "prison cell" in Vallehermosa was too long for us, but could see why you needed that long in the area.
We’re pleased you enjoyed discovering La Gomera, but are sorry you did not like your room at the Hotel Triana. The rooms here are simple, as we describe, and customers do appreciate having access to the variety of walking available from Vallehermoso.

However, it's a truly remarkable place, the flora beautiful, challenging climbing at times, but always rewarded with stunning views and diverse panoramic landscapes. Each day provided something different. A great week

The landscape, sea views, plants, food and variety of La Gomera. Walking up to the crater of El Teide and exploring the crater the next day. Enjoyed bird watching and seeing blue chaffinches, canaries, birds of prey etc.
Spectacular walking especially round Vallerhemoso. Would recommend doing the long Option 4 Igualafero walk starting from Igualafero as the scenery was stunning. Lots of steepness everywhere but even for 60 year old hillwalkers, it was no problem. We loved the hospitality, courtyard and rooftop solarium of Casa Los Heleches in Agulo. Would recommend this holiday especially for a bit of warm winter walking.
This is an outstanding week's walking on a beautiful island. The routes are well thought out and whilst challenging are very do-able. We found walking poles to be essential for the many descents throughout the week and valued the extra navigation reassurance from the GPX files which we'd downloaded to Outdooractive (and saved for offline use to limit potentially expensive post-Brexit data charges). The weather in mid February was perfect but worth noting that it can change significantly between the north and south of the island - so pack lots of layers. All the hotels were excellent and Inntravel managed the logistics of bag-moving, taxis, ferries and planes with their usual skill and expertise. Worth brushing up your Spanish (or getting adept at using Google Translate) as there's little English spoken on the island. There's loads to explore on La Gomera and we're already talking about our next trip there. Thanks for an excellent week's walking.
La Gomera is a remarkably unspoilt island. We thought the vegetation and variety of habitats we covered on the walks were really beautiful. Some tough climbs and descents as expected but it led us onto quiet and lovely ancient cobbled paths overlooking remote and awesome barrancos. We didn’t see Tenerife at all nor any sea or horizons! La Calima - Saharan dust - obscured them for the entire week but nevertheless the views on the island from the high walks into the steep sided valleys were stunning. Would recommend the 19km route (& walking poles!) from Igualero to Vallehermoso for the wonderful and diverse plants. Transfers, taxis etc all worked perfectly. The taxi driver, Dulce Maria from Vallehermoso, is delightful and very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the island.
Would not hesitate to recommend this holiday. The people of La Gomera are exceptionally friendly, the scenery and walking are fantastic.The restaurants in the villages are delightful, plenty of fresh fish and produce available for picnics. A wonderful break.

We really loved the island of La Gomera. It is very unspoilt with hardly any major developments, so the hotels and restaurants were all small and very atmospheric. The scenery is absolutely spectacular, we felt we were in South America at times. There is a lot of uphilll and downhill involved, that's just the geography of the island. But the paths are clear and well marked and overall the level of walking was as we expected. Overall the trip exceeded our expectations and we would love to go back. The customer service from Inn travel as usual was fantastic, we had to change our plans at the last minute but they went out of their way to sort it all out.
The highlight was the Parador in San Sebastián. Pure class! (but be warned, the pool is not heated!) No lowlights for this trip but one note of caution. The notes on the walk into San Sebastián give the impression that this is an easy ramble with a long steady descent to the hotel. In fact, it is as challenging as the other days so don't be tempted to swap your boots for a pair of trainers.
I have been on a dozen or more walking holidays and this is one of the best! Loved all of the walks especially day 3 (Roque El Cano) and 4! We rarely passed anyone on our walks and the views were spectacular. The island is beautiful and unspoilt. All of the hotels were lovely and the transfers all ran smoothly.
All in all, we had a brilliant holiday and would book with Inntravel again!
Our La Gomera walking holiday was very enjoyable - the paths were very quiet, seeing only a few other walkers each day, and the towns were not too touristy. The walks were all very interesting, particularly from a geological and botanical perspective, encompassing laurel cloudforests and desert-like cactus covered barrancas. The accomodation was good, especially the Parador for the final two nights. We had good weather in mid-December, with overnight rain on two nights, but sunshine during the day. Inntravel provided an update each time the relevant covid related regulations changed between booking and departure.
We particularly loved the walk out of Vallehermoso past Roque El Canó - absolutely spectacular views!
Walking poles were very useful for the long descents and saved the knees.
Tasca Las Cruces was excellent value for dinner in Agulo but all the restaurants recommended were good.
Beautiful walking with fantastic views of Mount Teide. Be prepared for lots of up & down, walking poles may be helpful. La Gomera is very peaceful, with few other tourists, so quiet in the evenings. It felt like 'real' Spain. We particularly enjoyed staying at Casa de los Helochos in Agulo. I am not very good with heights, but found this trip quite manageable despite the warnings. If possible, I would suggest travelling during the week as there are more ferry crossings so less time in transit. Overall, this was our first trip with Inntravel, all transfers etc worked perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The variety of scenery was excellent. A very beautiful, quiet island.
Would not hesitate to recommend Inntravel and we will be booking with them again as the quality of their service and walking holiday was far superior to other agents I have booked with in the past. A memorable holiday and the places were suggested were wonderful, unspoilt and far exceeded our expectations of The Canaries.
La Gomera truly is a gem, the scenery is stunning and the island is largely unspoilt. The walking was challenging but very rewarding, many of the views were breath taking. The holiday will remain long in our memory. For food lovers, I would definitely recommend the Tasca Telemaco restaurant in Hermigua. We had a fabulous three course meal with wine which cost around 85 euros. For anyone who enjoys white wine, the better Cumbres de Garajonay blanco is a steal.
