Getting to Corsica
Travelling to Corsica can take a bit of time, but it’s more than worth the effort! There are direct charter flights (whose weekly departures preclude adding extra nights), but we highly recommend considering flying via Paris, Nice, Geneva or Toulouse, to name but a few. You could even spend a night or two in these wonderful cities as part of your holiday. Our expert team will be happy to discuss travel options with you, the ideal being to fly into Bastia and out of Calvi.
This Holiday in a nutshell
  • self-guided, four-centre walking holiday
  • ancient villages, mountain hamlets, azure seas
  • boat trip to one of Corsica’s most beautiful beaches
  • characterful and contrasting accommodation
  • private scenic transfers and wine visits between centres

Known to the French as the nearest of the faraway islands, Corsica is both on the doorstep yet off the beaten track. A visual feast of powder-sand beaches lapped by turquoise waters; scented forests of chestnut, oak and olive backed by snow-capped peaks; and ancient villages tucked into the folds of green valleys… the allure of the 'mountain in the sea' is timeless.

It's one of those privileged places on the globe that has a character, a strong personality that neither time nor man has been able to breach.
Astérix in Corsica

Taking you on a journey across the island from east to west, your holiday, and the places at which you stay, are as contrasting as the island itself. Starting on Cap Corse, you gain your first insight into Corsican life as you explore the picturesque villages of slate houses in the north-east of the island. A transfer through the vineyards of the Patrimonio region, sampling wines en route, then brings you to the coastal town of Saint-Florent, where the boat trip to idyllic Plage Lotu, lapped by turquoise seas, is a real highlight. Moving inland to your next base in the mountains provides a startling contrast, and the chance to discover the unspoiled splendour of the island’s interior – where time stands still and nature holds sway – as you walk along old muleteers’ trails to Genoese bridges. Last, but by no means least, is the buzzing town of Calvi on the west coast. More panoramic paths beckon you to explore on foot, though the beach and citadel are every bit as appealing…
