Lanzarote & La Graciosa

A land forged from fire
We offer a delightful place to stay: Casona de Yaiza in the village of Yaiza, owned by José-Ignacio and his charming wife, Tatiana, your relaxed and unobstrusive hosts. Here, you feel as though you are in the middle of the countryside, yet the hotel is located just a short walk from Yaiza’s main square. (We also offer the owners' other hotel, Casa de Hilario, as an alternative.)

Casona de Yaiza (country hotel), Yaiza

Meal arrangements: breakfast, plus dinner on 3 nights

Casona de Yaiza
Formerly the summer mansion of a wealthy landowner, the 19th-century Casona de Yaiza is a graceful building and has been decorated with superb attention to detail and eclectic artefacts which lend it great character yet without compromising the traditional atmosphere. Throughout the hotel are paintings by both Renaissance and more modern artists, which perfectly complement the beautiful, hand-painted furniture. There are plenty of quiet corners in which to sit and relax, both inside and out, as well as a small swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The ten spacious bedrooms are all named after parts of the spectacular Fenauso Valley, which you can gaze at from the hotel and its terrace. (Room upgrades are available – see price panel for details.)
The well-regarded restaurant, under the direct supervision of host José-Ignacio, has been created from an old bodega and is open every evening. You can choose to dine either in the shady courtyard or inside in the cosy restaurant. There is also a basement art gallery with comfortable seating and spaces to relax on cooler evenings.
(Please note: the restaurant is not open on Wednesdays.)

Casa de Hilario (country hotel), Yaiza

Alternative hotel
Meal arrangements: breakfast, plus dinner on 3 nights

Casa de Hilario
This 16th-century farmstead, now offering modern accommodation of great charm, has a choice of sunny terraces on which to enjoy breakfast in the morning. Set around a courtyard, the ten light and airy bedrooms are individually (and often quirkily) styled, with large walk-in showers, and are furnished with exquisite hand-painted furniture with Oriental-style motifs that complement the many modern paintings dotted around the hotel. The tranquil garden is planted with some 30 species of palm, and contains a small heated swimming pool.
It is just a fifteen-minute walk (or a two-minute drive) to the restaurant at the Casona de Yaiza (for your included meals); and there is a restaurant next door which you can choose to try on other nights.
